I'm afraid you guys are reading me wrong. I meant the tall ones, the ones the cheerleaders don't do anymore. The one on one pyramids are not ones I'm talking about. Read my first post on the subject and you will know I meant the ones at halfcourt.

I agree BUrednwhite. We did pyramids that were 2 1/2 high in previous years at halfcourt (even last year), but only with the support of the band. We don't do anything w/o them. We add visual to the music.
Good job band! You are the essence of college basketball!

For example, every time the Michigan football team scores, they play their fight song. The more they play it, the more it nags the opponent (on top of giving up the score). It's like getting sick of some stupid commercial jingle.
We need to drive the opponent nuts with hearing that song... make 'em just sick of it. Every time they need to call timeout to stop one of our runs - play it. Every media timeout - play it.
Play it.
Play it!
PLAY IT!!!

BUredandwhite, you said it. The band played B4 the pyramid. That's the problem. Keep the band playing all the time. They should do the 2 1/2 pyramids before the game, halftime, and after the game, not when the crowd wants to make noise. We are there to watch a ballgame and cheer for our team not sit and watch 2 1/2 pyramids. GO BRAVESWhat part of illegal don't you understand?

once again lets clear this up. chico, the band started playing before we went on the court for our 2.5 highs, played during the 2.5 highs, and after the we were done, they are still playing. ask Vrohman he coordinated all that with us. we did pyramids before the games, never at half or after the game. we're not running out there and telling everyone to quiet down and not cheer. thats how 99.9% of sqauds do it around the country, they stunt with the band, throughout the entire song, plus we haven't been able to do a 2.5 high in over a year cuz of the SIU cheerleader, so we shouldn't even be worried about it

So which song is the fight song? There's two that I can think of that the band plays often (both of which I like)... I think a good song for a timeout called by an opponent on the run is the Imperial March... only ever heard it played once though.
Also, sort of off topic... Love the way you guys play the theme from Cowboy Bebop now.
Back on topic... I'm definately behind the band on this one. I have no desire to hear Zombie nation.

some of the things are scripted, cheerleaders and band get scripts before each game so some of the stuff, though really stupid, we don't have a choice but we coordinate it together as much as possible so at least the band gets to play, b/c if they don't play, we don't stunt

Just another point to support the band....
On the Markley and Luciano show yesterday, Kirk Wessler did his "2 up 2 down" segment and mentioned something that i had forgotten. About three seasons ago Bradley moved it's bench to the opposite end of the floor so that the visitors bench would be CLOSER TO THE BAND!!! The idea being that the band would be louder and hopefully disrupt their time out huddles.

I think we all want the same thing - a great homecourt advantage. We've had that this year for the most part - last Tuesday being the glaring exception. It's good to discuss ways to make it better. I think that anyone who goes to games can see how hard the cheerleaders work with not enough recognition. Same for the band. Maybe we can all thank them by cheering more and by encouraging the administration to give us more of the band and cheerleaders and less of the CD music, etc. E mail addresses for KK and BP are listed earlier in this thread.
