Please do not play "Imperial March" during a timeout. I've been in the student section when that happens and it's brutal. The song is lifeless and does not get people excited. Play something uptempo like "Crazy Train".

OR -- how's this for a compromsie? -- THE BAND plays "ZOMBIE NATION" during the timeout.

bucheer. Hate to disagree again, but while you were building your 2 1/2 the band was not playing to their full potential. That was always a complaint of many fans. Don't stop the crowd from cheering, which pyramids did. They started up again after your stunt. I know you can't do it anymore, that's why I said at least the cheerleaders aren't building pyramids anymore. Last post on this subject, getting old. Thanks for being there for the team.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

Chico- in the past 4 years that I have been cheering on the basketball court at carver arena and the fieldhouse the ONLY times that I have EVER done a pyramid on the floor without band music playing is when we attempted to do a cheer in a pyramid. In this case (which happened perhaps twice in the past 4 years) we built the pyramid with a sign and enticed the crowd to yell "GO BRAVES" or something of the like. Yes, I suppose that during these few and far between time-outs, there could have been band music but if you had been cheering with us like we were trying to get you to do instead of clearly not paying attention I don't think you would have minded. So, the point of this story is, unless there was a time more than 4 years ago, you are again wrong sir, and perhaps next time we put up a sign you should yell with us instead of complaining. I'd say that would create a more spirited atmosphere than your complaining.
        Awww BU THREE! Yeah!

          Indy State board:
Time's up - any Valley bands qualify? The Bradley band comes the closest to having a sense of positive musical tradition. They also work together well and support the action on the floor rather than trying to constantly impress you with how cute they are. From what I've seen and heard, Bradley is the classiest arena that provides a big advantage fpr the home team and has a great sense of tradition. The fact that they were largely ignored in this "survey" says it all to me.
I was sooooo glad not to hear Zombie Nation during timeouts last night. Props to those who contacted the powers that be!

How was the crowd during timeouts? If the crowd was lame, then Zombie Nation will be back.

              Thanks!

The crowd was great last night. Thanks to all who cheered and especially those who stood up and did the wave!!! It looks awesome when that goes around the whole arena.

Thanks everyone for a great senior night!

I actually stood and did the wave last night. In my oppinion it is a embarassment that we do the wave ( Are we 20 years behind the times?) But I figured as long as they are going to do it, I might as well make it look better. As long as they don't do it while the game is going I guess I'll join in. I wish we could do something more original though.

The people around me were singing, cheering and doing the wave. We were also (actually politely) encouraging some of the vintage-er crowd to get into the game. Props to them also for being good sports and playing along.

If it wasn't for the vintage crowd there probably wouldn't be a Division 1 team at Bradley.

No disrespect meant, Chico. We were just very appreciative toward the fans we came in contact with who humored us and accepted our gifts of red basketball beads.

I feel like I might be beating a dead horse, but I feel like there are a few misconceptions that need to be cleared up here. I am in the band and some comments a few of you are making are pretty far from the truth.

                          1. I still do not have my voice back after both the men's and women's tournaments. So please do not say that the band does not cheer hard enough for the team. We ruin our vocal cords and ear drums on a regular basis. It's not like we are just a bunch of band nerds that join basketball band for another credit. We truly care about the team and pay attention to what happens throughout the season.

                          2. We are NOT "punishing" the team by sitting down during the CD music. Do you think they even notice that we are sitting down? They are too busy listening to Les to notice. We just do not appreciate all of our hard work being rewarded in a manner we consider slightly disrespectful. The band puts in countless hours of practice before the season begins, then we play every home basketball game. It takes a lot of our free time away. Don't get me wrong, we know no one is making us do this. We would just appreciate acknowledgement of our hard work rather than being snubbed. We consider this to be our job and we would like to be allowed to do it.

                          3. Due to NCAA rules, there are some things the band used to do that we are simply not allowed to do anymore:
                          a. We cannot play any music that resembles tribal music due to the controversy over the mascot.
                          b. Drum cheers or any other instrument played any other time besides time-outs is not allowed. This is why we have not played after BU free throws or when the ball is being inbounded.

We love you guys. Seriously. Personally, I'd rather hear you play and yell than any Zombie Nation, as would, it would appear, most of the posters on this board. If you go back and read the thread, we were pulling for you. It also seemed we may have touched a nerve with someone running the boombox at Carver, as after this post appeared, Zombie Nation DISappeared and Senior Night was full of your awesome renditions of the songs we all love to sing along with.

Thank you, band, and ROCK THE HOUSE TONIGHT!
