  • Wild Occurrence at High School Game - Again

Just two weeks ago, the Journal Star reported on some BAD behavior at a high school game:
"During a recent boys basketball game between Cairo and host Mounds Meridian, a plastic bottle allegedly thrown by a Cairo supporter struck the mother of a Cairo player. The incident occurred with 3:15 to play and Meridian leading by 11."

Well-- last night it happened again...

While a Cairo player was warming up, a fan, apparently an employee of the Meridian school, ran onto the court and started pummelling the Cairo player.
The situation happened right in front of officers who were there to maintain order, and the attacker was apprehended then the game went on.

Several witnesses describe the incident here...
but all the facts are not really known and the player who was attacked was also taken from the gym by the police, never returned, and did not play in the 81-49 Cairo blowout over Meridian.

I saw that story too tornado, but I think Cairo pummelled Tamms Egyptian to win that game--not Mounds Meridian.
