On the surface, this sounds like good news for Patrick. I hope that is the case.
But one other possibility-- The NBA trade deadline is Thursday (2 pm EST) and if Golden State is interested in making another trade that involves POB, he has to be part of the team roster.

We'll know in a couple days.

A trade might not be the worst thing for POB.

a trade to almost ANYONE would be the best thing for POB

The rumble is that he is indeed being shopped.
Here are some rumor mills but they aren't very complimentary to Patrick.

Don Nelson is saying this callup could be just for a couple days to get a look at Patrick.

Did one of the posters on another thread indicate that there is a limit of 2 for the number of callups that an individual player can do in a year?

If so, you would think that a trade is in the works. I'm sure Nelson thinks he is still in the hunt for a playoff spot and I doubt he has reversed his early direction and decided that POB is needed for run to the playoffs.

I would like to see POB traded. I think he represents great value for a team that acquires him. We all knew that he was still at least one, maybe two years from physically maturing to level that he could consistently contribute at the the NBA level. The development league was probably not a bad place for him to be this year if he stays with Golden State.

BTW, did you see Greg Oden's comments over the weekend about turning pro. He has not decided if he will leave Ohio State at the end of his freshman year even though it is almost a sure thing that he would go 1st or 2nd (behind Durant) in the draft. He doesn't want to make the jump to the NBA until he is sure that he is ready to be an impact player at the next level. Not to beat a dead horse but ... a player has to objectively look at the lifetime value of his playing years, not how quickly he can start drawing a paycheck. Mr. Oden sounds very pragamatic.

Can't find it now, but I BELIEVE the limit is 3.

Maybe the Warriors see a stretch of games where they want to revaluate POB - could be a good thing. I'm sure that GS fans are frustrated that they are not getting more contribution from their no. 1 draft pick.

Or maybe they're frustrated that they're Golden State Warrior fans...
People need to recognize there is a huge difference between playing hard, and playing well...
