  • Tony Bennett Update

Tony Bennett was at the Peoria Kings game last night. His old team from the ABA the Chicago Rockstars are no longer in the league.

It was reported in the Journal Star today that Tony has now moved back to Peoria and has asked about playing for the Peoria Kings. The kings only have 6 games left in the regular season, so I would be sort of surprised if they made a change this late. However, I do think it would be a great move for the Kings to get Tony. Tony lit up the Kings for 38 pts earlier in the season and would be an immediate impact on the team. I think it would attract more fans for the Kings as well consdering they only draw about 250 fans per game.

I have also heard that Tony is looking to play overseas. He mentioned to one o fmy friends that he was looking to play in the Dominican Republic?? I didnt even know they really had any leagues over there.....

    250??? That's downright depressing.

There is a reason you simply DO NOT see any ex-Bradley players prominently utilized by the Kings.
I would be surprised to see TB with the Kings for more than a few games, just as when Phillip Gilbert signed with the kings...now he has all but disappeared.
Sure they had Michael Stewart and Phillip Gilbert, but I have been told personally by some of the ex-BU guys that there may be other reasons why the BU kids just aren't going to get prominent playing time with the Kings.
