  • Ex-BU player Report

Michael Stewart ('03) was playing some for the Peoria Kings.
But Michael is possibly done for the season as he suffered a knee injury and had to have surgical repair of his ACL.
He had knee problems while he was playing at Bradley, and his knee has persisted in gving him some trouble.
Hopefully Stewart can recover and play next year.
I don't know about everyone else, but I still root for all the ex-BU guys.........wherever they are playing.

Thanks for the update. I agree. Once a Brave always a Brave. Except Danny Granger.

Does that also go for Broussard?

I doubt Broussard will be welcomed back as he screwed over the university he played and coached for; hope it was worth it.

The New Mexico boards are loaded with discussions conceding that Ritchie Mckay and his staff (Broussard included) will be gone after this year. They lost again last night to go to 3-8 and in 8th place in the Mountain West Conference and eliminate what little hope they had of making the NIT. This year will make 4 years out of 5 that McKay and New Mexico will miss both the NCAA and the NIT. The only NCAA year was Danny Granger's senior season. And they have very little talent coming back next year. McKay has worn out his welcome. He is signed through 2009, but they seem willing to pay him off and let him go.

Does anyone know what Brandyn Heemskerk is currently doing? I saw him at the Drake game but I dont know much about what he's doing. Last I heard he wanted to stay in Peoria.

I talked to Brandyn a month ago or so and he had found a job in the Grand Rapids area, and was doing well.
He has been in town a couple times this season, including the Drake game. That's all I know, maybe someone can add more.

PS-- on the Danny Granger/New Mexico thing, their coach Ritchie McKay sold his soul and his future by courting a couple of malcontents then giving them tons of playing time, just because he coveted their basketball talent.
Now he can't get a single decent high school recruit to come to New Mexico. That's what happenes when you give the transfers and walkons all the playing time.
