You know, I know that every year stands on its own, or is at least supposed to, but it certainly doesn't hurt that BU got to the Sweet Sixteen last year and crept into the minds of potential committee members. This is like when lawyers in a trial will say something out loud that is inadmissable during the trial just to get it to the jury's ears. The judge will strike it from the official record, but its too late, the jury heard it and will take it into account. Even though the committee isn't supposed to consider past performances, you can't tell me they don't, otherwise there is no reasonable justification for the higher seeds and questionable tourney invites some of these schools seem to get on reputation or past performances. All that being said, I think the thing that will keep us out is our lack of a "quality" road win and the fact that MSU and CU swept us in the regular season. We have to beat VCU, and probably need to knock off SIU in STL to get real consideration.
I know, I just kind of contradicted myself there at the end, but I still say that by getting to the Sweet Sixteen last year, it at least puts BU on the radar of the committee and if it comes down to BU and someone else with similar credentials with less success in recent years, I think BU's finish last year would help out. Also, if Wichita hadn't gotten to the Sweet Sixteen last year, people would have really stop considering them about 4-5 losses ago, but I think last years success is keeping them in the mix.DUBL R 1

Posted a little late, but here is the BUBraves.com report on the game--
EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Senior guard Will Franklin (Houston, Texas/Alief Hastings H.S.) made 1-of-2 free throws with 1.4 seconds remaining and the visiting Braves (18-10, 9-7) knocked away a full-court pass to end the game to close out a 72-71 Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball victory at Evansville (13-14, 6-10) Wednesday night at Roberts Stadium. For the second year in a row, Bradley ruined the home team's Senior Night festivities, this time with solid performances from its own senior class.? Franklin was one of three Bradley seniors and five Braves overall to score in double-figures, finishing with 12 points and five assists.

man i am glad that i didn't have the opportunity to listen to the second half! i was shocked to see the Braves only win by 1 point! kudos to the Aces to come back in the second half when it looked like BU was shooting lights out and such. The Aces I see ended up with a good number of boards, so i'm figuring they outrebounded Bradley in 2nd half.
either way happy for a W, lets go get em sat nite!!"There are thing known and unknown and in between are the Doors"
