  • Xavier Crawford

Can someone fill me in on Crawford? I know he was recruited and signed last year but is not at Bradley this year. Did he go to Jr. College? Is he coming to Bradley next year?

    Just curious

He's playing at Yuba Junior College, where Zach Andrews and Lawrence Wright came from...

As far as I know, he's still planning on coming to BU 08-09.
    Go Braves!

He's from Minnesota. They have 10,000 lakes. What else is there to do?

Through some personal communication I have learned that Xavier Crawford is getting more and more playing time and opportunity.
In his early games he didn't score much so his averages aren't too impressive....around 6-8ppg and about 6 rpg for the season.
But in several recent games he is in double figures scoring and still getting close to double digits in rebounding.
The bottom link tells of one game that XC scored 21.

Here are some recent updates of his games:

What is the probability that he will actually come back to BU? I am sure he will receive some interest from quote "better" schools and that can really sway a kid. I bet it is no better than 50-50 right now. Hope I am wrong.

I hope we're becoming a good enough program that those kids are less swayed by the "better" schools.

I suspect it really depends on how XC's situation shook out when he didn't qualify. If Les said, we still want you, go play for Coach Corn, and then come back when you're graduated from Yuba, then I think he'll be back. If it went more like, well... too bad it didn't work out, go to JUCO and we'll see how things look when you graduate, then I'd think his recruiting is basically "open."

I think that since he went to Yuba (with whom we have an active relationship) it indicates it was more likely the former than the latter. I personally hope he's coming here.

I think it is higher than that. There are always things that could go wrong, XC may not qualify, he might get better offers, or he might get injured or Bradley might pursue other big men. But from what I hear from people connected to BU and Yuba, I would say it's more like 75-25 he'll be at Bradley.
