I am hearing from very reliable sources (a family friend and someone who has known this kid since he was 10 yrs old) that Fruendt is heavily leaning toward Stanford or Indiana.

Apparently he is a math wiz who is #1 in his class academically. He loves the academics and atmosphere of Stanford and the tradition of Hoosier basketball.

In any case it doesn't look like this kid will be playing in the Valley. If this is accurate and I believe it is, it looks like the recruitment of Matt Roth will get even more intense.

If he's a math wiz you'd think it'd be unlikely he'd go to IU. For those who don't know much about Indiana Higher Ed, most higher math, science and engineering programs are offered at Purdue, while Business and Liberal Arts are Indiana's domain, so if he is looking for something math-related it seems he would surely be leaning towards Stanford.

Not sure about math, but Kelvin Sampson is an expert on the theory of relativity (2R + UJ) = PR. Thats 2 relatives plus University jobs equals 1 prize recruit. His best student is Eric Gordon.

        I agree

Like I said, though, he likes the IU hoops tradition but the Stanford academics may win out.

If he teans toward the basketball end of things, then IU wins out. If he leans towrd the books (my guess is this is what he'll do) than Stanford becomes the choice.

If I were him, I'd choose Stanford in a heartbeat. Great school, great weather, good conference, immediate playing time. if he's considering IU, he might as well stay around here and play at Purdue or Notre Dame or something like that.

My main point was to say that the Valley appears to be out of the picture.

I love this kids game. I watched him play recently vs. West Aurora and i was truly BLOWN AWAY.
He got 5 blocks and played the entire game and was too exhausted to jump.
Fruendt is the man and is a smart kid.
