  • For what it's worth...

RPI stays virtually the same at 50
    SOS improves to 21

We need to win out and get AT LEAST our first game in St. Louis to even consider an at-large bid. 22-11, 11-7 in conference, 4th place in a top 5 conference, RPI in the high 30's, SOS in the low 20's should at least get us consideration. What will probably be our undoing is 1-5 against the top 5 teams in the league, and our awful record against the RPI top 50.

Let's finish strong and at least make people think about us!

Awful record vs. good competition. 1-5 vs. the Top 3 in the Valley, got blown out at Mich. St, lost to Illinois.

Either the last 4 Valley games and probably the finals of the Valley tourney, or the last 4 Valley games, the VCU game, and the semis. 10-8 in conference won't do it, period. Our options are limited, but they're attainable.

The ESPN Bubble Watch thinks that a 9-9 Wichita St conference record could be good enough for an at-large bid for the Shockers. I'm not sure about that, but I do know a 10-8 Shocker team will get in way ahead of a 10-8 Bradley team.

I think we have to hope for the best, but prepare for the NIT, which after all the preseason predictions would still be a nice accomplishment. Let's concentrate on finishing at least 10-8, and earn a high enough seed for at least a couple of NIT home games. A trip to the Big Apple would certainly be nice as well.

Yes, they can play with anyone. Beating anyone is another story.

It's too hard to pull your self out of a big deficite early. Same story at SIU. If we got out to a quicker start the game might have been different.

We're not that deep of a team. We knew that coming into the season. That we can compete is reflective on the players and coaches who have prepared our team well. But we are not that deep, and though we have some stud recruits coming in next year, it will take some time for them to gel. Another NIT type year is possible before we can hopefully make a run at the Valley title in coming years.
