Jim is doing his best coaching job BY FAR this season. He's gotten more out of this group than anyone imagined. There's no need to split hairs on one game. We battled hard, we just shot about as bad as a team can shoot. Yet, with 2 minutes left, we had a chance to win. We have a great coach leading this program to great things, this year and beyond. We'll bounce back from this. I'll be suprised if we lose another game this season.
Say what? Surprised? I would be SHOCKED if we DO NOT lose another game this season!!
Happy, but SHOCKED!
If I sat the bench every game, when I finally get into the game I would shoot it everytime I got the ball. If he wanted to impress the coaches, he should try harder in practice.
If that's your attitude, I'm glad you're not on the team.
Here's an idea: Maybe he should try harder in practice AND not chuck up shots when he gets in the game.
Based on your logic, SS should shoot every time he gets the ball because he only plays limited minutes.

I don't think we are going to win the national championship... so yea, I'd say we are gonna lose at least 1 more game.
I think yesterday's game plan was one of, if not the most-well designed (unfortunately poorly executed), that I've seen from this staff.
Agreed and it was executed pretty well except when we missed open looks. I bet we got more open looks from SIU last night than about any team they faced all year. We just missed.
I just wish some of you guys would have the courage to call in to the Jim Les Live radio show and discuss your ideas with Coach. Long Hair Luni, Taters, and BuBraves55 - I encourage you all to give Jim a chance to answer some of your questions on the radio. Challenge him on playing time for players, if you REALLY think you have a case. Ask him why JJ gets more pt. Ask him why he doesn't play DA more.
As usual Mac you are right on point. But God you are such a bully!

yup if we didnt shoot 5 percent from 3 we would of destroyed them
I thought we had a lot of good shots last night but we just couldn"t make them ; if there was anything that I would have changed was A. Warren would have played more in the 2nd half as he was playing well, we just do not have enough size to rebound against some of the better teams.
who says they have to be good to be over 6'7" he was just asking
You pointed out earlier that you'd like to see SJ and SS play more. Both are not good players. Don't you want to put your best players on the floor? That's why BU plays with 3 or 4 guards all the time.
SS is a big body that can give quality minutes in short bursts, but he can't be used extensively because of his injuries. He can't jump and he's too slow to play in this system for more than a few minutes.
As others have said, SJ has shown absolutely no reason to deserve more playing time. Yes, he's long and athletic, but he's not a basketball player. He's an athlete. There's a big difference. When he does get into games, it's a 1 on 1 showcase when he has the ball. There's no concept of team play.
LongHair, you say you don't blame SJ for putting up shots when he's in the game. But if you wanted more playing time, wouldn't you try to impress the coaches by playing team basketball instead of taking ridiculous fadeaways?
I've liked what I've seen from Sam this year, and if we go big again next year with Egolf and Thompson coming in, Singh will be an integral part of the team and it's interior development.
But, obviously, the style being played by the Braves this year, he's sort of an odd-man out, but he has worked hard to get healthy and has shown signs of being able to do some important things like rebounding, setting bone-shattering picks, and altering shots.
I am hoping that Sam will be able to work this summer on getting some of his flexability back and also being able to jump like he did before his knee injuries ; our trainer will hopefully be able to help him with these problems in order to get him back like the player he was when he first arrived on the hilltop.
I enjoy watching Sam play; he knows how to use his big body to create some havoc. I just wish he didn't power-dribble the ball everytime he gets it under the basket (offensively). anybody else notice this? It seems that he often gets the ball when he is open, and rather than just turning and attacking the basket he dribbles once, which gives the defenders just enough time to slide in and d up. It seems to be a habit, because he does it almost every time he gets it (and thats no exaggeration).
