Does anyone know if there is a way to know which officials will do the BU-SIU game? Depending on how strictly the rules are enforced, it could make a great deal of difference against SIU.

      I know what you mean.
I do not believe the MVC or any conference publicizes the assignment of officials for the games ahead of time.

Interesting that I notice when Da Coach posts those links to the European games that Cellus plays in, they usually list the 3 officials for every future game the entire season. I think that is good information to know. Maybe even coaches would plan their game differently depending on the officials. But in this era of concern about wacky people and violence, I can understand why they don't list them.

This has been a season where we have overachieved big time, but if we want to have realistic hopes of making the NCAA tournament, this one we really need. Sure, if we lose, it's not over, but considering how easy the remainder of our schedule is after Wednesday, I'd feel very confident in our NCAA chances with this win.
Wow...definately a group of overachievers...well besides Ruffin, Andrews, Adams, Franklin all who played with the sweet 16 team last year. Of course there is no positive experienced gained from doing that. I am sure that all of us believed the pre season predictions of them being a cellar dwellar team, just not me.

It feels good to know that this team, besides the teams Les had with all of Coach Mo's recruits when he first came, will probably be lowest on the ladder when compared with last years and the years to come.

Well considering the fact that Andrews practically didn't play AT ALL in the NCAA tournament, Adams very little and Franklin averaged 5 points a game last year... I'd say we've overachieved. I'm sorry but when I think of last year's team the first names that will come to mind are: 1. Cellus 2. POB 3. Boogie 4. Bennett 5. Ruffin.

So to possibly believe that these kind of results were "expected" seems a bit ill-timed coming up now, after it has been done. I don't think ANYONE here thought we'd be a "cellar dweller" but that we'd be a .500 team and be in the 6-8 range in the Valley.

But overall who cares? This team has been successful whether or not you want to take credit for predicting that or not. We need this win on Saturday. I don't care if we were coming back with All-Americans or scrubs, it's simply hard to win at SIU. And that is why it is such a big game.
          Go Braves!

But I agree that SIU is probably the toughest place to win. If they pull that off it would be as big and more impressive than last years beat down at Northern Iowa.

Hopefully we will get a good officiating crew since the game is on fox mid-west ; we also need to make a good showing as we have not done well this season when we have been on fox mid-west.

Wow, I just read the game notes and noticed that SIU has won 50 of its last 51 games at home. That is just phenominal. With Bradleys shooting woes on the road, i'm not to confident about this game but hopefully a miracle will shine thru. GO BU.

                      Les Speak

                      I loved this line:

"We let our second team beat the crap out of our starters," Les said. "We tell (the reserves) to be extremely physical, body and hand check and really get after them."

                        SIU Thugs

                        And this line:

How have other MVC teams prepared against the Salukis?

"We go down to the police station and get all the German Shepherd attack dogs, bring 'em down and put 'em on the floor," Missouri State coach Barry Hinson said jokingly. "We went into Carbondale and got beat 20 so evidently we didn't simulate it very well. But when you continue to talk about it, you paint them into supermen to your kids. So you have to be careful how you do that."

It's rare that I get to see BU on TV here in Indiana, so let's win this game!! Last week was a big disappointment. However, I think we can win this game! GO BRAVES!

Zone is nice, but, IMO, the key to tonights game?
                            REBOUND-REBOUND-REBOUND.
Southern seems to have a yo-yo on the ball. They miss a lot of shots but, the ball seems to immediately head to the nearest Saluki. Its amazing, or maybe positioning? I do not know, but it drives me crazy!

Even though we won, them Dawgs out rebounded us 36 - 21. There is no excuse for such as difference.

The only thing I can say to that Mike... we missed a TON of shots. Salley, Ruffin, Warren, and Adams combined for 4-25. If we had made some more shots, maybe they wouldn't have had 25 defensive rebounds.
