  • Hello - Look Forward to Playing You Guys

From the 1957 NIT finals, to the old MVC days, through Hersey Hawkins and now again. Bradley Braves VS Memphis Tigers. This time with a Great Eight ticket at stake. Look forward to seeing you guys again. You were impressive today. Looks like a great game between us.

Thanks oldtiger. We look forward to the game as well. Glad to see that there are Memphis fans that want to talk about how the game will be played out instead of spreading hate. Look forward to your comments the next few days.

Yeah, I've got no interest in trash talking.

It will be a fun week leading up to the game exchanging notes/comments. Good to have another "non-big 6" conference member in the tourney. I've liked the MVC since our days there in the late 60s and early 70s. Look forward to comparing notes.

Triple T above is a really good fan who has a great Tiger fan's site. ....... the below Braves/Tiger record comes from his site.

For those that don't remember our history, here is a listing of our 18 games beginning in '57. As you can see, you guys didn't exactly welcome us into the Valley with open arms, we lost 6 straight Valley games to you before we were able to even the series at 9-9.

I remember most of those games. Larry Finch and company helped turn around the Memphis program. We were sorry to see Memphis leave the Missouri Valley.

Yep, you guys owned us until Larry had his crew came along. Seems you had a guy named Steve Kuburski (sp?) along about that time and there was an ABA player - Laverne Tart that may have played for you guys possibly before Kuburski.

The Valley was and continues to be one of the best basketball leagues in the nation. Traveling to Drake (Willie McCarter?), Bradley, etc is something that no one looked forward to.

I've only seen your team once this year - against Pitt......your big guy looks like a good one - acitve, hard worker, etc. He's one to be respected and certainly caught my attention.
