  • MVC awards predictions

Lyndal Scranton of the Spingfield (Missouri) News-Leader has his picks for MVC awards as the season moves into the second half of the conference schedule. Players from UNI, SIU, and Creighton dominate the award.
But he picks Bradley's Daniel Ruffin for 1st team All MVC.
"Ruffin a terrific scorer and passer at point guard."
The only other mention of a BU player is Zach Andrews for
Most-improved player: "Bradley's Zach Andrews, a backup to 7-footer Patrick O'Bryant a year ago, gives this season's Braves an inside threat. He's getting 7.2 rebounds per game and shooting a league-best 64 percent from the field."
Though Jeremy Crouch would have been a strong contender for this is he hadn't been injured. Jim Les is mentioned as a close second to Ben Jacobson of UNI as coach of the year.

    UNI

Did UNI lose a lot of players from last years strong team?

I can't imagine anyone thinking that there is someone who did more with "Les" than BU!

I am flatly astounded that this guy has apparently no stinking idea who Will Franklin is!
Will is scoring 15.7ppg (17.0 in conference games), 4 assists per game, nearly 2 steals per game, 47% on 3-pointers, and a 1.9 assist to turnover ratio -- all of which are among the very top leaders in the Valley.

And to answer your question, B4L, Northern Iowa returned 3 of their 5 starters, losing Ben Jacobson and Erik Crawford.
Two of their top 3 scorers and 6 of their top 9 scorers DID return.
With BU, their TOP FOUR scorers DID NOT return.

Will Franklin continues to be the Rodney Dangerfield of the Valley.

Will is better in virtually every statistical category, even steals, assists, etc.
Will's stats also compare very favorably to Nate Funk's, Blake Ahearn's and just about any other player in the Valley.
