I know he's playing for Washington and was originally verballed or signed with ISU but what was the circumstances surrounding this deal, I forget.

Dentmon was recruited to and verballed to ISU and signed his LOI in the fall of his senior year.
As happens, he had a great senior year and led his team well into the IHSA Finals.
Reportedly he had a change of heart about playing for ISU, maybe he got called by some other D-I coaches.
Some have claimed Bruce Weber got in Dentmon's ear, but no facts have ever been presented to even remotely support that claim. Even when some ISU fans have stated "I know for a fact that Weber tampered, and I have undeniablle proof", I have asked for that proof, and they always say:
"well I heard it from someone who usually knows..." and then they give not even a shread of evidence.
Either way, Dentmon then enrolled in a prep school, then reopened his recruitment.
Dontcha think if it was Weber that "saved" the kid from being doomed at ISU, that Illinois would have gone hard to get the kid?
But.....NOOOO....Illinois stands by while the kid tours the west coast and verbals early to Washington.
Here's the rub..the kid was hailed as a great player at Washington and they had a pretty good year last year.
They were supposed to rival UCLA to win the tough Pac-10 this year, but something happened on the way to pick up their Championship rings......
The rest of the league actually got better instead of just talking the talk of getting better. And other teams now have some game film of Dentmon and have found a few ways to stop the kid. He is now no where near as effective as PG as he was last year, he is barely shooting 30% from long, and has an assist to turnover ratio that is barely over 1.
Washington is now 1-6 in the Pac-10 with about a month to go and mark my word.....
If Washington finishes 8,9, or 10 in the Pac-10, watch for the Pac-10 talking heads to proclaim they deserve 10 bids to get Washington in! -
Bruce Weber is a play by the rules guy, he would never tamper with a player that has verballed or signed with another team, just ask Jon Scheyer....
