I think the students need to tell the ticket mgr. about this problem and try to work something out as they should occupy those seats when they can as they deserve them; this team is both the students and the communitys and we all need to work together as I believe we all want the same goal;to help Bradley win and make it a great atsmophere.

Here is a novel idea: Let students line the lower bowl and not the oldies!
Nowhere in the Constitution is healthcare a right. Either is employment insurance, food stamps, and welfare.

I ask what makes the liberal pansies think those are rights?

      Stupid liberals.

True it's the students' team for four years, but that's the important time to hook 'em and make them want to come back and pay the regular season ticket price later on ... just a thought ...

Do that and you can kiss hundreds of thousands, heck millions, of dollars goodbye, including the Braves Scholarship Society. Don't think that's in anyone's best interests. The student support is fantastic, and getting better and stronger with every win. Just win baby, everything else will take care itself.

As a student it really galls me to think the university is willing to sell us out for a few extra bucks. That doesn't really strike me as the message you want to send to the people who might be donating the big money in the future.

Not to mention the fact that they're paying big money in tuition right now.

How many BU students stay in Peoria.....I don't want to make this Townies vs students. We all want them there. Reality is BU is NOT like an ISU which I BET wishes they had the older fanbase to support them during down times.

BU is a small college with a low enrollment...they NEED the town to support them to survive. IF this wasn't the case you would be watching DII ball if that.

As it is BU gives the students a section on the floor. This is the FIRST year in the last 6-7-8 years I can recall it being sold out or even close to it.

Wouldn't it be nice these last 7-8 years to have all those empty seats ringing the court.....

We have SEEN what increased demand will/can do. BU is making accomadations by adding seats.

I HOPE the kids keep coming....even during down times which we all hope are few and far between.

not a whole lot of kids stay, thats why im not asking for the WHOLE section to be saved for us im just asking for them to save just the first 5 -10 rows

thats all we need and its not like Bradley is going to lose a lot of money that way

As bad as it is to say, I'm not surprised that BU would "sell out" for a few extra bucks. What does surprise me is that these major contributors would stop donating to the program if BU put the students closer to the court. I have 4 lower bowl season tickets, but would not be opposed to moving up if BU announced plans to put the students closer to the court. Anyone who truly loves the program and University would not stop contributing for bettering the student body.

Surely, there has to be some compromise that could be worked out. Maybe one side of the lower bowl could be students. If 1 side of the lower bowl were students, they could still stand the entire game, as people above in the upper bowl could sit and still see the court, meanwhile the other side of the lower bowl would still be sold to fans, as well as the upper bowl.

If any students post on here, how many students do you think attend a game on average? Just wondering how many students we are talking about.

                      students

I have had season tickets now for 11 years..I have always wondered
why the university has not done something for the students to get both end zones filled with rowdy student fans!!They are very important to the program when they are in school and especially when they leave...Maybe they could get the students to sign up for the games during break beforehand, and save those seats to accomadate them and the public!!

When BU decided to create a student section, a few season ticket holders had to be moved, but now, several years later, the season ticket holders on the opposite end of the arena, would probably rebel strongly if they were asked to move.
I suspect that the problems that would be encountered in creating another student section opposite the band, outweigh displacing so many long time Bradley supporters.
Joe Stowell's son and many big supporters sit there.

Yeah, I would love a general admission student section reserved for winter break. It wouldn't be at all hard to implement. Just ask all the students who buy season student tickets if they will be in Peoria for all of winter break, J-term, or not at all. Then allocate a certain section of seats for students and sell the rest to the public.

Also, IMO, the student section has been a lot better this year and seems to have a lot of underclassmen, which is good to keep things going next year.

It would be cool to see more seats for the student section closer to the court. BU could charge more for premium student section seats to offset the loss of regular seats. I have a buddy at Purdue who told me about the hundreds he spent for student season football and basketball tickets there.

It doesn't need to be about townies and students or whatever. (Though if it did need to be about that, students/alums would have to get the nod.) I think the student section needs to accommodate however many students will be there. Students should also be relatively "closer" than "farther away." Two reasons, one, they're the ones in school, and two, (maybe more importantly) they'll be noisier and more effective as far as crowds go.

Student section shouldn't go up into nosebleed where I get to sit as a brand new alum, but I'm not saying create another student section at the other end either. What happens if you put a couple of rows courtside on one of the long ends of the court? A few people who had been in the front row, would now be in the third... I'm just thinking of the crowd we saw at MSU. All of those students going crazy along the court were pretty neat.

Again you guys just don't get it....BU isn't MSU. BU is BU. Small University DEPENDENT on boosters moreso than most Universites that have money rolling in from other sports like football.

People say "I can't believe BU is selling out for money"....well ok , forget the money and enjoy battling IWU, Monmouth, Eureka or perhaps you REALLY enjoyed that game against Lewis earlier this year.

BU is BU because this town and its loyal fans that mostly never set foot on BU campus for anything other than a basketball game live and die for the hoops program.

I would love to see the students closer to the floor but AGAIN I ask what happens to those seats if we stumble and become bad again. You'll have 4-500 empty seats because MOST students won't follow the team during a down period. Heck most don't follow through mediocre years with all apoloies to those that do.

If/when BU ever builds there own place I hope they allow for a great and close student section. Until that happens get used to BIG money owning the lower bowl. In the meantime keep "forcing" BU's hand to come up with alternatives to what they have. As I have stated that entire band end zone should be owned and reserved for students. Thats close and a good section.

Thanks to the students for coming back THIS year and Kudo's to all those that have been coming through thick and thin.
