  • More Seats Being Added to Carver Arena for Wednesday's Game

Expecting a complete sellout, Bradley has requested some extra, temporary seating be added.

This news release from Bradley also adds that
"Bradley is averaging 9,561 fans per game through 11 games,
but with a strong finish could set the single-season record for total attendance.

(ps-- can we hear from those who doubted that the excitement is back?)
PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University has requested 60 seats to be added to the student section of Carver Arena, increasing the building's capacity for men's basketball games to 11,140 for the remainder of the season. And those new seats, along with every other available seat in the building, likely will be filled when the Braves (14-7, 5-4) host Interstate 74 rival Illinois State (11-9, 3-6) Wednesday night. The Bradley Ticket Office reports that less than 500 tickets remain for Wednesday's 7:35 p.m. rivalry game. After 11,080 fans attended Saturday's 78-63 victory against Wichita State, the Braves are expecting their second consecutive crowd of more than 11,000 for the first time since the 2000-01 season when 11,006 attended the Feb. 17 contest against Indiana State, followed by 11,309 Feb. 21 for the I-74 Rivalry game against the Redbirds. A sellout would be Bradley's third of the season, matching the most since the Braves also

This is good news considering the ISU/BU series hasn't been much as of late. It would be nice to see both teams restore the rivalry to what it was in the '80s and '90s.

Sorry, but I never want ISU to be that good.

I'd rather ISU be good. First, it makes our wins over them more satisfying. And second, if they're not just playing the role of spoiler then beating us won't make their season. I hate the fact that we could make their season with a loss, and how that would cripple our at-large bid chances.

The rivalry is at its peak when both teams are good....

Part of why there is a continous subtle shift to siu being the main rival.
