That's funny. When it says "It showed on Saturday." in the article they're referring to the Red-White Scrimmage on October 13. Someone at the Rockford paper just realized Pittman is from Rockford and there's this story out there that could fill space. I think this reflects more on how cheap Gatehouse Media is than any shortcomings on the part of the sports editors or writers. You saw the same thing with local TV when long time personalities were purged to save money. Private equity types in New York betting against quality local journalism in the Midwest.
