  • Congrats to DLO - MVC Player of the Week

The league has started the 2018-19 season with a 10-1 record in its home non-conference games. Last year the MVC was 54-7 against non-conference teams at home.  The breakdown of games this week is favorable, with 10 home games, two road games and five neutral-site contests.

    What a great Tri-fecta today...

first we had Bradley Volleyball's Erica Haslag named the MVC Player of the week in VB
then we had Lasha Petree named MVC Women's Basketball Newcomer of the Week

Now Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye is the MVC Men's Basketball Player of the Week!!!

    MVC Player of the Week
    Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye, Bradley
    6-4, 210, Sr., Gd. | London (England)
Lautier-Ogunleye led the Braves to a 2-0 start last week, averaging 17.0 points, 6.5 rebounds,
3.0 assists and 2.5 steals, while shooting 69.2 percent from the field and 50.0 percent from 3-point range.
In the season-opening win, the senior guard scored 12 points to go with eight boards, four assists and
a personal-best four steals. He then scored a career-high 22 points in a victory against Southeast Missouri State,
reaching the 20-point mark for the first time since his rookie season.

I think Bradley had 4 straight MVC POY from 1986-1989 (Les, Hawkins x2, Manuel).

Congrats to DLO! He looks like he??™s ready to take over games!

yes, and the Player of the Week was almost an automatic for Bradley
Hawkins won it 14 times - and three different times he won it three weeks consecutively...

Six different Versace players won it - Anderson, Winters, Les, Hawkins, Wilson, Manuel - a total of 21 times...

and people tend to forget - but 12 different Jim Les players won it - nine of whom were JL recruits - Granger, Gillingham, Gilbert, Bennett, Sommerville, O'Bryant, Crouch, Andrews, Franklin, Warren, Maniscalco, Lemon - a total of 21 times...
..then nobody won it until Darrell Brown, Jr. in 2016 and now DLO in 2018...
Quite a dearth during the Geno era...
