The opening weekend in MVC women's basketball was filled with outstanding individual efforts from veterans and newcomers alike. Drake's Sara Rhine registered a double-double in two Bulldog victories over Nebraska and Western Illinois, en route to the league's first Player of the Week honor for 2018-19 and her fourth career award. Bradley freshman guard Lasha Petree made an immediate impact in her Braves debut, tallying 24 points and five rebounds, while shooting 55.6-percent from the field (10-of-18), to capture the conference's initial Newcomer of the Week honor.
she is just a junior, 5-11, but averaged 23.1 points, 10.7 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 3.6 steals last year
and she has a talented 5-6 sister who is just starting her freshman year in HS...
and btw, she has a 4.0 GPA - nice
PEORIA, Ill. -- Third-year Bradley Women's Basketball head coach Andrea Gorski made two additions to the 2019-20 roster during the Fall Signing Period with Mahri Petree (Detroit, Mich./Arbor Prep) and Roni Roberts (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) both signing National Letters of Intent to attend Bradley.
Following the excellent recruiting class of 2018, these two 2019 recruits add more talent that looks good for the Braves' future under Head Coach Andrea Gorski. Mahri Petree is the younger sister of 2018 recruit and current freshman Lasha Petree, who was the leading scorer with 24 points in the team's opener last Saturday. Mahri is also a talented player who should have a great senior season. And Roni Roberts is a 6'2" physical forward with excellent skills who will add inside help next year. Congratulations to the coaches!
