Will there be a "Hoops insert" this year?
That article about Elijah Childs has the following editor's note:
Editor??�s note: This is the first in a series of previews for the 2018-19 college basketball season. Watch for more stories over the coming weeks, ahead of the Nov. 6 openers.

It seems to suggest that they will be publishing a "series" of "stories" spread out "over the coming weeks ahead of the Nov. 6 openers" about the 2018-19 Braves in the newspaper, and it says nothing about an upcoming separate "Hoops insert" section, which they usually promoted quite a bit in past years.

Also, it seems a bit odd that they say:
"Watch for more stories over the coming weeks, ahead of the Nov. 6 openers."?

The Bradley men's opening game is Nov. 7, and the Bradley women's opener is Nov. 10.

No, there will not be a formal Hoops insert this year just articles one-by-one...

Hoops Insert

Dave Reynolds....Not Good! Bradley fans all over Central Illinois look forward each year to the Hoops Insert. Looks like you guys are backing away from Bradley and not covering it like you used to. BAD/BAD/BAD.
Fans want in-depth stuff on players/new recruits/coaches. Bradley Basketball is clearly the #1 Sports interest in our area...More than Cubs/Cards/ Illini/bowling/auto racing/High school football & basketball/Hockey/Chiefs/
Etc. Your bosses including the new Sports Editor and Gatehouse need to understand this.

It sounds like Dave's series of Bradley articles will replicate the Bradley part of the old Hoops inserts of the past. What might get reduced or eliminated is coverage of women's teams, ICC, ISU, other MVC teams, other state schools, local high schools, and other basketball topics like they always had.

sounds like they are waving the white flag and admitting that they have nothing else to offer beyond what's already covered here on BradleyFans
