    Bradley women final -
    BU 91 - Quincy 62
four BU starters in double figures, BU hits 24-28 FTs!! (Quincy hit 17-25)

Detroit played DII Watne State in new head coach Mike Davis' debut
they won on a long buzzer beater at the end of regulation 79-76

and I keep seeing people claim that ISU reports ACTUAL butts in the seats with their attendance figures...
but anyone with an ounce of sense can clearly see that is false...
Here are multiple photos from last night and every section of the arena is visible in these pictures- https://goredbirds.com/galleries/?gallery=3354
(especially note the sections right behind the scorers table that are vastly unoccupied)

Not that the lower bowl is 1/4 to maybe 1/3 full and there are only a handful of people seen in the upper bowl
...and yet they claimed the attendance was 4,218, which is close to 1/2 capacity
So, sorry but I can not be convinced there were actually 4,218 people there.

    edit- added at 2:30pm
Drake playing their final exhibition right now vs. Coe College (DIII)
Coe has Creighton coming up on their schedule but currently they are hanging
with Drake - Coe is down 22-20, 6 minutes to go in the 1st half - transfers Nick Norton, Bradly Ellingson, Tremell Murphy & Anthony Murphy are playing the most minutes so far and are 3-13 combined..Nick McGlynn leads with 9 pts
...Drake firing a lot of 3-pointers

our closed exhibition opponent Northern kentucky is playing their final exhibition vs. Pikeville (ranked #8 preseason nationally)
Looks like NKU cruising toward victory - up 67-32 in the final 5 minutes and they are playing without their best player

Drake leads Coe 29-27 with about 5 min left in 1st half
Coe has Adam McDermott who just transferred out of UNI - he leads Coe with 9 pts currently

edit - Drake finishes the 1st half on a 15-6 run to take a halftime lead of 44-33
Adam McDermott has 11 for Coe, Nick McGlynn has 11 for Drake

Drake blew them out in the 2nd half, both teams cleared the benches
and Drake won 99-58 - 14 different Drake players have scored
Nick Norton had 19, McGlynn 11, Tremell Murphy 10

Liberty putting a scare into Virginia Tech in a charity exhibition game between two DI teams...
Liberty took a 37-36 halftime lead and stayed with 2 pts until the final 6 minutes...

but finally Virginia Tech pulled away and won 86-70
Scottie James had 13 pts, 6 reb

???? Not sure who McDermott is, but he definitely was never at Drake.

Anyway, Bulldogs emptied the bench early, only one player on the team (Brady Ellingson) played more than 20 minutes. For the last 8-10 minutes of the game, Bulldogs had at least 3 walk-ons in the game.

No way to make any real judgement based on an D3 opponent like Coe. But, it gave Drake's new guys a chance to play in front of an audience (10 of the 14 guys who played for Drake had never played for the Bulldogs previously). Also gave DeVries a chance to try a whole bunch of different line-ups and play guys at different positions.

Tornado has his Iowa schools mixed up. Adam McDermott was at Northern Iowa for the last couple years, and transferred to Coe.

                one more surprising exhibition game...

Arizona played Chaminade and led by only 2 at half and even TRAILED by as many as 8 pts in the 2nd half..
then rallied to squeak by in a 74-65 win that was a 1-point game until the final 7 minutes...

btw- the Chaminade Silverswords are another school whose mascot is a plant
