Keyshawn Evans out for a couple of weeks

Thanks B16
-shouldn't make a bit of difference since this is the deepest team they have ever had
btw- what he has is described as a stress reaction in a bone in his foot - a "precursor to a stress fracture"..
...Dan Muller says they will shut him down for a while - estimate is 2-4 weeks..
If it is just 2 weeks then he'd be back by their November 3rd exhibition with DIII Augustana...
If it's 4 weeks, then he will miss their exhibitions and their first 3 or 4 games - but then they have 3 games in 3 days (Nov. 19, 20, 21) before facing DII Lindenwood on the 24th. Would they bring him back to play that many games in that short of a span? (4 games in 6 days)
Stress reactions all act differently depending on where, what bone...except for one thing - if you try to hurry the recovery and if you get too active too soon, it sets you all the way back to the beginning - so you have to be extremely patient given the degree of stress these athletes face with sprints and jumping.
This is what some reports said Luuk van Bree had and Luuk spent from early Sept until just last week (1 1/2 months) in a walking bootLast edited by tornado; 10-18-2018, 07:48 PM.

some further comments from Dan Muller about their depth...
"Injury update: The Redbirds are in their fifth official week of practice, but
haven't had their 11 eligible players together much.
Senior guard Keyshawn Evans was shut down last week with an injury to his
left foot and placed in a boot for two to four weeks, putting his availability for
the Nov. 6 season opener against Florida Gulf Coast at Redbird Arena in
question.
Sophomore forward Taylor Bruninga sat out Monday's practice and hasn't
gone more than an hour during a practice yet while still feeling discomfort in
his left foot that sidelined him for 11 weeks.
"When he's in there he looks like a guy who can help us," said Muller of
Bruninga. "That's one spot we don't have a lot of depth, but we have
enough. If you can't practice, it's hard to play you much."
Even some players who have to sit out this season have been on the
sidelines.
Dedric Boyd missed two weeks with a concussion, while freshman Abdou
Ndiaye practiced for two weeks before being shut down again by recurring
pain in his shin. Jaycee Hillsman is out indefinitely after hip surgery."
so that's five different guys who have missed much of the practices so far due to injuries!
