For the first time, I will have to miss the Red-White Scrimmage event today. So please post your thoughts.
I am currently in sunny south Florida where it is 90 degrees, and going to the Bears-Dolphins game tomorrow. So how's the weather up there?

Not 90 but hopefully a little warmer at the Renaissance. Looking forward to seeing the new Braves but gonna miss seeing Ari...Hopefully he recovers quicker than expected.

            Hi Da Coach,

Glad you are in sunny Florida to cheer on the Bears!! The weather here is poor. It was near freezing in Northern Illinois. It will reach 51 degrees at warmest. Not a great fall day. We had a gig at a Farmers Market this morning and we chose to not perform. Your fingers get stiff at 38 degrees which was the temperature when we would have started.

            Go Braves, Bear Down!

LOL, that is certainly true, Da Coach. Really, though, try to play the lead guitar solo to Take It Easy with your fingers out in the 38 degree temp for 90 minutes.

                Probably rheumatism and the cold.

I can do it without going. I've been to these at 6 different schools and the reports are always the same.

We are a lot more athletic this year
Player A looks a lot stronger
New Player B is going to make such a difference this year

Bottom line on all of these kickoffs are you learn nothing at all but they sure are fun. Enjoy today guys.
Cheering with pep and vim for the white and purple!

                    My take on the Red-White

a couple recruits there - one for WBB - a game-changer - that's all I will say if we can land her...

The women looked great - hit a high pct of their shots, mobile, handled the ball, passed well - I expect they will do very well in the MVC.
The freshmen all hit shots like upperclassmen!

The guys did a half court scrimmage 5-on-5 for the first 10 minutes
then played two periods of full court scrimmage...
some bad shots - a couple airballs....

but the guys who looked very good were...
Elijah Childs - looked awesome - hit almost everything he wanted - looked like a senior/team leader..
Jayden Hodgson - has become very good ball handler, hits the open shot when needed...
                    DB- can score & create
Kennell - very confident with his shot - hope he keeps firing & hitting
The freshmen - Brummett & Henry both looked pretty good. Boya, of course, sat out as did Luuk van Bree
That meant only 11 healthy bodies - so everyone better be ready for some minutes ...

Everyone else looked OK - Bar at times looked like he could become a force down low then would come a play where he misses everything or doesn't know what to do with the ball

                      Report from BradleyBraves.com-
Junior Nate Kennell and sophomore Elijah Childs both scored 10 points to lead the White Team to a 31-28 victory over Team Red in Saturday's Red-White Scrimmage.

                      Women's summary-
PEORIA, Ill. – Bradley Women's Basketball made its 2018-19 on-court debut Saturday afternoon at Renaissance Coliseum as senior Shunseere Kent scored a team-best 12 points to help lead the White Team to a 34-31 in the annual Red-White Scrimmage.

In addition to 2020 guard Latrell Wrightsell, Jr., there was one other recruit at today's Red-White scrimmage. 2019 guard Luke Yoder of Bloomington Central Catholic was there on an unofficial visit.

This was the most organized I??™ve seen a Bradley team look in a red white scrimmage. Lower turnovers. Lots of hop and energy. Of the freshmen, Brommet (sp?) looked really good. His shot has almost no rotation, but who cares ... he found the bottom of the net with some regularity. Strong and under control with a good body. We need Bar to have a good year, and he struggled with touch today as in the past. Agree Child??™s continues to shine, and is a huge bright spot on this team. DLo and the old guard are going to be fun to watch this year, and I think we will be a tough out.
                            Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

it was also the preseason for the stats crew - or maybe they have some freshmen - they were putting the scores onto the scoreboard for the wrong team
