Red & White Scrimmage...
t's take on the Red & White was right on target. Elijah C. was awesome. Looks physically stronger. His biggest improvement seems to be the addition of a very good 3 point shot....He didn't shoot many threes last year so if Elijah is now an excellent 3 point shooter, he's going to have a great year IMO.
D. Brown looks very good. He seems to take better care of the ball and finds the open man very well....He's also still a very good offensive threat.
Kennell looks much more confident. Of course, they were playing on the RC court which is like home to them so we'll have to see if NKs confidence factor carrys over to the road....Hopefully, it will.
Hodgson looks much better. He really takes care of the ball and looks for the open guy. Plays without many turnovers.
Freshmen were impressive. Brummet is aggresive and Henry looks like he will be a major contributor this year once he gains confidence and plays harder for a Freshmen. He's strong and big for a guard.
K. Bar still has a ways to go. He continues to have problems catching the ball and is slow reacting....Need to get much "nastier" down low and show some aggresiveness. We really are going to need Ari.
Overall, this is going to be a very good team IMO and once Luc and Ari return, we should be able to go far this year.

There was only a minumum mention of the Bradley Red-White scrimmage by our local media
Every other school gets good media coverage for such an event -
schools like Kansas or Kentucky even get national coverage for their intrasquad scrimmage with Kentucky's even being televised
some even get solid coverage of an open practice - I'm just surprised how little attention Bradley basketball gets any more..
I know they had massive layoffs, but they still have time to send a reporter to the dilapidated Sadie McButts saloon 3 times a week
to detail every phase of the building's demolition, and they still cover every Nascar race no matter how obscure...
It's even worth a long, extensive column if one of their reporters is mistaken for someone else...
With nine new players on the roster and a new coaching staff, the Bears are working on themselves away from basketball.
