They are fun to watch. I'd encourage Bradleyfans to give their games a watch... Easy on the eyes too.

Bradley volleyball sweeps Eastern Illinois 3 to 0 in their first match of their own CEFCU Classic. Bradley is now 8-2-
PEORIA, Ill. -- The freshman duo of Rachel Pranger and Hannah Thompson each had 12 kills to help Bradley Volleyball open the 2018 CEFCU Classic with a 25-21, 25-17, 25-16 sweep of in-state opponent Eastern Illinois as the Braves improved to 8-2 on the year with the victory.

Bradley will play another match at 7 PM tonight against Omaha.

It's early, but Head Coach Carol Price-Torok, in her 3rd year at Bradley, appears to be doing a tremendous job. Bradley volleyball has not had a winning season since 2002, and they have averaged fewer than 3 MVC wins per year in the last last dozen years.

              2018 8-2 so far
              2017 10-22 (3-15 in MVC)
              2016 7-22 (2-16 in MVC)
              2015 6-24 (1-17 in MVC)
              2014 2-26 (2-16 in MVC)
              2013 13-15 (7-11 in MVC)
              2012 9-20 (3-15 in MVC)
              2011 12-16 (5-13 in MVC)
              2010 8-23 (3-15 in MVC)
              2009 9-23 (0-18 in MVC)
              2008 6-26 (2-16 in MVC)
              2007 3-28 (2-16 in MVC)

Nice start to the MVC season with a road win at SIU. They play again Saturday night at Missouri State, who was picked #2 in the MVC Preseason poll.

Bradley VB plays again today but I want to dwell a bit on what they've accomplished so far...
and I don't follow VB much, but if they keep this up, I might just get started doing so...

Still a long way to go but they deserve some kudos for what they have accomplished to this point!
-They have won 7 in a row and are 13-2 and off to a 3-0 start in MVC play - with two of the wins over teams that were well ahead of them in the Preseason Poll

-they are drawing crowds that are unlike anything seen up on the Hilltop in many years- crowds of 400, 500, 600, and even a game well over 1000

-Already only a couple weeks into the season, Bradley players have won the MVC Player of the Week, MVC Defensive Player of the Week and MVC Freshman of the Week - and it's pretty likely it is gonna happen again this week with freshman Hannah Thompson getting an amazing 24 kills last night & libero Yavianliz Rosada digging a career high 35 digs

-this is the best start in program history since 2005 and only the 3rd time ever Bradley has started 3-0

In fact, with most of the Valley season still remaining then the tournament, Bradley already has the MOST wins they have ever had since 2005

...so, it certainly begs the question - why did Bradley wait so long to hire Carol Torok-Price??
                              Great job Dr. Chris Reynolds...

recall- one of Joanne Glasser's very first actions was to fire Scott Luster and bring in her own picks - she tried that TWICE and in those eight years there was zero success- an average of only 8.7 wins per season and a string of basement finishes in the MVC. I have said it before and will say it again...
I have a strong feel that we are PERMANENTLY into a NEW era of unprecedented success at Bradley across the board in Athletics...finally putting that miserable losing era behind us.
We see it in every sport... Golf, Cross Country, now VB & Basketball... and even baseball - which had a bit of success with Elvis finally having a good season in 2015, but then last year they had 32 wins and the fewest losses (19) since Dewey Kalmer's 40-16 season in 1992-93!
I have no doubt that under Dr. Chris Reynolds and the coaches he has brought in and with the atmosphere, facilities, staff, training and other things he has brought in - we will be seeing this kind of success regularly.
