I don't really understand what all the hate for Muller is for, I feel like if any coach in the MVC had multiple NIT appearances they should have a happy fan base. Yes of course they should always strive for the big dance but compared to the past decade of only Wichita and Creighton getting at-large bids ISU has been fairly successful.

Muller has gone for the quick & easy fix - pursuing and landing gobs of juco kids, transfers, players with issues/felonies, and kids with serious academic deficiencies, and kids who came in highly touted but bombed out......
-- look at all the kids he's been burned by with arrests, defections, ineligibilities, attitude problems, etc...
In some ways, his strategy paid off temporarily when some of his juco and transfer kids played well - and he got some accolades & some mentions for better jobs - altho nothing panned out.....
but now he's got so few players producing that his team is massively underperforming. Add to that - he has a bunch of open scholarships with all those seniors leaving and he doesn't really have anyone coming in that will help.

A lot of people who watch ISU play say the same thing - that they are selfish & lazy, they don't play defense and there's way too many ballhogs jacking up lots of bad shots. Obviously some of that has to be on the coach.
They were picked a strong 2nd in the preseason, getting numerous 1st place votes - and had TWO first teamer's and a 2nd team pick.

Before I read the whole article I would have sworn the first two sentences of the last paragraph were being written about Indiana State aka ISUBlue ..... a carbon copy of the other ISU. They are totally out of Lansing's control and have been since the MVC season started.

Interesting column - the guy predicts all the programs that are going to fire heir coaches
          and who they will hire..

He predicts that New Hampshire will fire their coach and hire GENO FORD
          https://herosports.com/hot-seat/coll...la-mick-cronin

He also predicts an odd swap of head coaches between Nebraska & South Dakota State with TJ Oetzelberger going to Nebraska and Tim Miles going to South Dakota State

He does NOT predict any coaching changes in the MVC
BUT - the guy starts his column off saying...
"Fifty-five men's basketball teams changed coaches before the 2018-19 season, the most ever in one year"

BUT that is definitely NOT true - there have been more in other years - and sometimes a lot more - https://www.bradleyfans.com/forum/sp...9879#post79879

Well - Gregg Marshall (Wichita State) is not on any hot seat - but it will be interesting if any rumors regarding Marshall surface this spring as they always seem to spring up just as assured of springing up like spring flowers this time of year. Wichita State is currently 6th in the 12 team AAC conference with their final regular season tomorrow at last place Tulane. After the NCAA championship I may have to take a moment and snoop on their fan message board shockernet.

And as we have mentioned before, this is probably Barry Hinson's final season at SIU. They are preparing to buy him out and call it a "retirement". The only snag might be if he wins the MVC Tournament. There is already a plan to replace him with former SIU star Bryan Mullins, currently an assistant coach under Porter Moser at Loyola.
Mullins has never had head coaching experience anywhere, and only 3 seasons as an assistant coach at Loyola.

LSU head coach Will Wade, who is 25-5 right now -
has been placed on suspension and will not finish the season - he may now be a goner if the rumors coming from the FBI leaks are true

                  LSU doing damage control.
Just a couple weeks ago there were several prominent basketball writers already handing the Coach of the Year trophy to Will Wade.

I am not following the media - but I would like to know how Barry Hinson has irreparably burned the bridges at SIU. If this holds true - heck New Hampshire should hire Barry - not Geno Ford.

Despite leaked information that the NCAA and FBI investigation into the ongoing pay-for-pay scandal suggested that LSU head coach Will Wade may be involved, today LSU reinstated him from his suspension.
