Bradley tied Oakland 1-1 tonight in Rochester, Michigan in a non-conference match.
Their record is now 7-4-4 and 1-4-0 in the MVC.
They have 2 games remaining in the regular season- A non-conference match Saturday afternoon, Oct. 27 at home against WIU, and a home match Saturday night, Nov. 3 against Evansville.

Only the top 6 teams qualify for the MVC Postseason Tournament which will be played Nov 7-11 in Evansville, and currently Bradley sits in 7th place with a 1-4-0 record while Drake and Evansville are tied for 5th, each with a 1-2-1 record.
So Bradley needs to beat Evansville on Nov. 3, AND they need either Drake or Evansville to lose their last 2 games.

            bad news for BU soccer
one of their best returning players for next season is leaving & transferring to St. Mary's (CA)

St. Mary's was one of the best DI programs last year
they finished the regular season 18-0-2
and were #11 in the final rankings
Younes Dayekh was the Missouri Valley Freshman of the Year in 2017 and will be a junior at St. Mary's next fall

Great players don't want to play in a boring, talent stifling system. I hate to say it, because DeRose has been great for BU, but maybe it's about time for a change to a younger and more progressive coach and system.

I have to disagree here. Bradley soccer has been the most successful Bradley sports program over the last 20 years.
And, I can't quite agree that there is a problem with players unhappy or leaving. DeRose recruits good kids, they do well academically, I've never heard anything about players unhappy, it is rare for any to leave, and they as I said, the men's soccer program has been Bradley's most successful sport.

And your reference a "boring, talent stifling system"....isn't that a pretty good description of all successful soccer programs?
Soccer is never going to be a sport that encourages individual, prima donna type players. And no matter what system you have, most American fans will always think it's a bit boring at times. And it is not as if a lot of talent has jumped ship and left Bradley for greener pastures. Maybe there have been rare past players who have left, but no more and probably less than at most schools.

And in this case, the player who left, Younes Dayekh is from San Jose, California. So I suspect his reason for transferring to St. Mary's (located in Moraga, California just a few miles away) is not about lack of playing time or stifling his skills and more about returning to his home area. And it isn't likely related to lack of playing time. He played in all 17 matches, started 14 of 17 games, and played 1,424 total minutes, 5th most on the team not including the goalkeeper.

And finally, it probably won't hurt Bradley. In the 17 games and 1,424 minutes he played, he had only 2 goals and 4 assists.

By Younes Dayekh leaving, a scholarship opened and Bradley has landed a transfer Mikey Conneh from Penn State.
Conneh is a sophomore originally from England-
