ST. Joe Stowell honored with Lifetime Achievement Award
Weekly family rail, with a review of “Pineapple Express,” tips on how to save money on back-to-school shopping and more.

..wonder why the MVC took an extra 10 years?

I was aware of Coach Stowell's long association with BU men's basketball as a player, coach, and radio commentator but, I wasn't aware that he had coached more clinics overseas than any other coach or that he is the only coach, to anyone's knowledge, to have both a men's team and a women's team lead the nation in a statistical category.

It was interesting to see, in the same article, that Joe Allen was the scoring leader during the 1968 Olympic trials. I just wonder why he wasn't selected for the team.
My first BU hoops game was on 12/30/1963. My dad took me to watch the Braves defeat Arizona 67-59. He helped me get Coach Orsborn's autograph before the game.

          from his bio-
"Although he was the leading scorer during the 1968 U.S. Olympic Team trials,
his lack of mobility did not mesh with the fast-paced style coach Henry Iba
had planned for the Mexico City Games"
