  • Off topic: Lydia Moss Bradley mowed down by minivan

There's not much basketball news, so here is some interesting non-sports Bradley news.
Nice reporting by the Bradley Scout. The Lydia Moss Bradley statue on campus was struck by a minivan and knocked off its base and damaged Saturday night.

That might have been most fans' first guess.
But, I would bet JG doesn't drive a minivan.

But Bradley and the Bradley police apparently are refusing to identify the driver. It was a woman who "appears to have fallen asleep at the wheel while driving down St. James Street".

No way she fell asleep. She was probably just confused with the circle as the right half is closed for construction of the new engineering/business building. I bet she was going too fast and didn't realize it was closed so she ended up plowing right through Lydia.

Lydia Moss Bradley gets redmption -
not only is her bronze statue completely repaired and restore to its former location...

but Lydia Moss Bradley is VOTED as the #1 GROUNDBREAKING woman in Illinois
Congrats to our founder!! Now this is what FEMINISM looks like!! Forget the Hollywood connections or the loud protests - Lydia accomplished more in her life than any "modern feminist" and never asked for recognition!!
And contrary to what some believe - she did NOT name the institution after herself - she named it after her generous philanthropist husband Tobias Bradley and also dedicated it to her six children who all died in their youth.

note the people Lydia beat out...
Betty Friedan, Michelle Obama, Jane Addams, Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Clinton, and even First Lady Mrs. Abraham Lincoln!
