  • Bradley signs new deal with Under Armour

    Breaking news -
The adidas deal has ended and Dr. Chris Reynolds has worked a tremendous new lucrative deal for all Bradley athletic teams to wear Under Armour apparel

PEORIA, IL – Bradley University and Under Armour, Inc. (NYSE: UA, UAA) announced a new partnership agreement. The Baltimore-based global leader in performance footwear, apparel and equipment has become the official outfitter of Bradley Athletics beginning June 1.

I love this - UA is incredibly popular with young athletes and their brand has been growing steadily after a couple of soft years (2015-17)
..and if Golden State goes on to win, then UA, Steph Curry's brand, will surge even more...

Nike, adidas and Under Armour are the BIG 3 in the sports apparel market...and I personally love this deal as UA apparel simply looks better

    Here's US MARKET SHARE

    Here's WORLDWIDE MARKET SHARE

now let's change that ugly B logo and get something unique & easily identifiable worldwide...

I for one am happy to be done with Adidas, and ready to see what Under Armour can do for Bradley. I never liked the alignment with Adidas, which lags far behind Nike and even Under Armour in sales and variety of products, which can be important to high school kids.

When Bradley started the Adidas deal 4 years ago, there was promise that we'd see innovative designs like these-

But that never happened, and the Bradley uniforms did not change much at all.

And note that there were quite a few Adidas schools that actually paid a penalty to get out of their deal with them to go back to Nike or UA. And there are reports that some schools found it hard to recruit because of their connection to Adidas, which does not sponsor nearly as many high school and AAU basketball programs as Nike and Under Armour. So I think this is a great move.

I am glad to move on from Adidas. Adidas has a certain negative image with me. I think it is because of the scandal of paying athletes or families under the table. I think Louisville was involved in it recently.

I am glad for the move away from anything so negative.

Did the B (red B on white shield) originate in the Glasser/Cross administration? If so I'd like to move as far away from that awful negativity as well.

          Name On Uniforms

Can anything be done to increase the lettering size on the names on the back of the Bradley men's uniforms for the coming season? In my opinion, the current size is really useless to the fans at Carver. I know that I am not alone in this request. Maybe one of you guys who are close to the program can make such a suggestion? I think it would carry more weight coming from you guys or even if a lot of us on bradleyfans.com felt that way?

          GO BRAVES!!!!!!

Yes, Cross paid a bundle to a designing & marketing consultant to come up with that hideously unsophisticated, harebrained B-logo.

I just got back from the Bradley bookstore with a few GREAT new items...
            (see my avatar)-
but DO NOT GO to the small store in the Renaissance Coliseum - as all they have are the old, leftover, obsolete adidas items that nobody ever bought - so you'd be wasting your time there.

While at the bookstore, we just happened to run into a few of the Bradley basketball players, who were on lunch hour from doing the Brian Wardle camp with the kids...so the setup & work at the camps takes a lot of their time & they won't be practicing or working out much this week.

Yes, the current Shield-B logo was all Glasser/Cross and was unveiled in August, 2012. There were reports that they paid several hundred thousand dollars to a firm to develop the logo.

Note that the reaction to it initially was mixed. I liked it, but over time, I thought it needed some updating, which did finally happen in April, 2016, shortly after the administration changed.-
Bradley introduces a new university logo that reflects both the rich tradition of the institution and a modern expression of the university brand.

And the merchandise shop in the lobby of the Renaissance Coliseum is actually not Bradley's operation. Barnes & Noble rents the space from Bradley, but the merchandise and most of the profits at that store are Barnes & Noble's.
The Bradley bookstore is also a Barnes & Noble operation (check the URL). But they do have a nice variety of Under Armour stuff now-
Shop Bradley University Official Bookstore for men's, women's and children's apparel, gifts, textbooks, and more. Large Selection of Official Apparel; Exclusives; Free Shipping on Eligible Orders

The merchandise that is available for sale on the concourse at the home games (and also at soccer games and other events) is from the Bradley Athletic Department, so that is another way to support BU.

Here are a few hints if you go to Bradley to buy merchandise...

-even if you currently have NO DISCOUNT at all, at the Bookstore, ask for the instant 10% discount that comes on any one item if you fill out the small card to join the email notifications (takes 45 seconds). Then if you buy one or more of their nice items- pick the most expensive item (could be $30- $40- or even $60 or more)
and use the discount on that one - you will save $3 to $6 or more

-BUT if you do this same thing online you could qualify for 25% DISCOUNT COUPON - LINK
25% one of their nicer items could mean saving $15-20

-They have a discount app that can save up to 25%

-If you are a member of the Braves Club at any level - if you didn't throw away all the stuff that came in the mail with your package or that you picked up last fall when you got your tickets - there was a coupon good for 25% off one item.
Unfortunately, most people probably will have trouble finding that - or wait a month or two and we may get a new one with this year's packet.
If you have it, be sure to use it on the most expensive item you buy.

-IF YOU BUY ONLINE this coupon code at checkout is worth 15% discount!!
enter "BRADLEYALUM" where they ask for coupon code
(or PM me for another one)

                    B Logo

I agree with tornado, get rid of that ugly B logo. I have never liked the new logo. It's too plain. The logo before they changed it (BU with "braves" angled across it) was a much better looking logo in my opinion.

I don't like how the shield logo is a copycat of UIUC.

Why the F! can't we design our own logo that doesn't resemble anyone else?

I do not like the current B logo either...
that is why I seek out apparel with the smallest logo and will not buy the items with the big B-logo

I like Jason Netzley but pretty sure he modeled his Brave Law Center logo after BU's after the unveiling.

It's a decent logo IMO. It's fine and we can't keep changing it.

Any idea why he would do that? He does not appear to have any connection to Bradley, other than locating his law practice in the city of Peoria. His own website says he is a graduate of UI Springfield, with a masters and law degree from SIU Carbondale.
Find experienced and qualified criminal, divorce and family law attorneys in Peoria IL. Brave Law Center provides you legal advice as per clients' needs.

Plus, a search of the complete database of Bradley donors does not show that he has ever donated a dime to support Bradley. It would appear he is trying to capitalize on Bradley's "Brave" name and mimic their logo. Why?
