Evansville announces their 2018-19 non-conference schedule-
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – In his first season at the helm of the University of Evansville men's basketball program, head coach Walter McCarty will challenge his squad with a tough non-conference schedule for the 2018-19 season.

They play some good teams, but the home part is not real strong. There is still 1 home game yet to fill.

and the two early round games they get from the Maui Tournament are also yet to be named - in all likelihood at least one would be a DII but the other might be a 300+RPI

Looks like they will also be playing at a couple pretty good Pac 12 teams- USC and Arizona. Jim never shied away from tough schedules.

Good for Jim, but I??™m not sure why he can get these games and we play SEMO, Eastern, Chicago State. Our schedule is better this year but not at that level.

UC Davis got road games at Arkansas and IU and two games in Fayetteville AR vs. low majors as part of an exempt tournament by signing up as a road team. Bradley??™s exempt tournament gives them two neutral games in Cancun vs. SMU and either Penn State or Wright State, and two home games vs. low majors. Not sure I??™d make that trade, although the opportunity for premier road wins looks pretty good right now.

Very sly on the part of UCF - they get a home game and then send USF Bulls out to central IL next winter. LOL

and Loyola is finding out what Bradley has known for decades...

that if you are a good MVC team, nobody will schedule you...

Moser says Loyola has only one non-conference game that is set & certain - the MVC/MWC Challenge game vs. Nevada.
They are also in the final stages of signing a couple other contracts - one of which is rumored to be a "buy game" that Loyola goes on the road to Maryland but does not get a return game from them.

ISU adds home and home with VCU to their schedule. Guess you can have success as a mid-major and still put together a good schedule. I know Walter is trying at UE and has definitely upgraded the schedule, but am not willing to listen to excuses that it's not possible any more.

VCU's RPI was almost 140 last season and lose a lot of scoring power- maybe they will be stronger this year.....altho they are being picked in that CollegeSportsMadness Top 144 at about the same place... but I agree it is a good opponent to get
Just by virtue of the MVC being strong plus the opponents we already know about- we should have at least 15 games against opponents with an RPI under 140...
