Police say a 20-year-old woman accused Ruffin of cutting her lip as he tried to get her out of his apartment. She was treated at a hospital and released.
If you can't see the enormous difference, then I can't help you.

How about we cost you guys a post-season bid with this one last - and it is now Bradley that owns the winning streak!
..and we all know about the down-era due 100% to Joanne Glasser, and we make no excuses for it, as most good Bradley fans never wanted a bit of her involvement and saw it coming light years away and tried to warn the Board of Trustees....
The firings & horrible hires & incredibly bad decisions began in 2008 & continued unabated thru early 2015. Everyone dominated Bradley in that span so it's a little silly for ISU folks to be so gleeful about it, since you still never made the NCAA.

Yet another delusional ISU fan trying to search for something vaguely relevant regarding Bradley. But in reality, you just keep proving my point.
And right on schedule, someone brings up the Daniel Ruffin case again, as they always do every time someone gets arrested, which happens frequently.
Just the fact that you have to go all the way back to February, 2008, over 10 years ago to drag out the Daniel Ruffin story again, while ISU has had over 100 citations, numerous arrests, multiple felonies, numerous DUI's, repeat DUI's and other alcohol-related arrests, multiple domestic assault charges, drug dealing arrests, arrest for sexual abuse of a minor, and many other legal issues in the same 10-year period, pretty much proves the case that Illinois State is the true renegade crime-riddled thug program, not Bradley.
But let me go further....
Daniel Ruffin WAS suspended by Bradley, something that virtually never happens at ISU. He missed multiple crucial games down the final stretch of the 2007-08 season. When did any ISU player ever miss any significant playing time for even far more serious crimes?
But then the President of Bradley stepped in, and she was not someone who went light on discipline. She did an in-depth investigation, and interviewed 2 eye witnesses who were in the apartment when the incident happened, something the police did not do. The police report was based solely on the word of the girl, and we later learned that was not accurate.
The witnesses confirmed Daniel Ruffin's side of the story 100% that the minor injury the girl suffered was her own fault because she refused to leave Ruffin's apartment after appearing there late at night, after the team's curfew, and uninvited. Ruffin was attempting to get her to leave. She later admitted she filed the charges out of spite, and asked the police to drop the charges. In the end, the President of Bradley completely vindicated Ruffin and determined he was innocent, lifted the suspension, and reinstated him.
In other words, there was no assault. Ruffin plead no-contest because he had the opportunity to play professionally in Germany, and that was the only way to end the case so he would be allowed to leave the country. But he successfully completed his probation period, and the charges were expunged.
As usual, the ISU fans and even their media coverage try to keep their players' crimes quiet, because winning is more important to them than the moral state of their program. There is simply no program in the MVC that comes close to the volume of legal issues, and the failure of discipline at ISU. But I am sure they will continue to bring up this Ruffin case over and over.

The ISU guys have a busy month with court dates...
Yarbrough..
-May 11 on the Order of Protection
-May 23 on the criminal charges for this case
-May 30 for the prior charges from back in February & last fall
Tinsley also has court date
-May 23 for his domestic violence charges
Deontae Hawkins made it for his April 27, 2018 court date and now has another June 6
plus a few more who still have followups on their supervision and a couple with warrants for not appearing

Oooops, at it again....but enough with the commentary so I don't get blamed for this- here's just the facts
The court record shows that he failed to appear (* as so many ISU guys have in response to their court cases) at the Order of Protection hearing
in front of the judge for the restraining order that HE FILED against his "ex-girlfriend" that he was trying to keep away from him because she took his cell phone before he assaulted her.
So, the judge vacated the protective order and dismissed the case...
Plenary Order of Protection Held.
Petitioner fails to appear;
Respondent pro se. (meaning she did appear in person)
Hearing on Petition for P.O.P. held.
On Petitioner's failure to appear, Petition for P.O.P. dismissed.
* the court records show that Milik Yarbough has "failed to appear" ten different times previously for his various prior court dates & appearances,
on the multiple charges he has accumulated in his <2 years at ISU.
This is his 11th time, but this time there's no further penalty except that he loses his case for the OP.
Meanwhile, Deontae Hawkins did return for his court cases (DUI, Driving on Suspended License..) which he is currently serving "Supervision"
and the judge issued a "Petition to Revoke" & another hearing in June, so he apparently failed in his part of the court terms for supervision.

the court record states that a DOTA was issued ("Defendant ordered to appear") and a new date was set for a hearing (a pre-trial review)
and a order for a "Petition to Revoke Judicial Supervision" was filed.
If he loses his chance at court supervision, he will then go to trial and the original charges (which were much more severe) could be re-instated.
Not a good move just thumbing your nose at the courts & showing contempt for the judge - shouldn't he have learned from what happened to Yarbrough for failing to appear?
Simultaneously, Milik Yarbrough has a court date this morning for his reckless conduct charges. He just missed his other court date
a week ago - will he abide by this order, which is a criminal case? - We will have to wait & see.

You're given court supervision only if you plead guilty. If you abide by all of the terms of the supervision, the charge gets dismissed at the end and you avoid the conviction on your record. If you violate the terms of your supervision, however, you don't just get to withdraw your guilty plea and ask for a do-over trial. The guilty plea stands. The supervision would get revoked and the court would sentence him anywhere up to the maximum punishment allowed by law (for class A misdemeanors, 364 days).
Of course, sometimes the state is just happy asking for the conviction to enter, or for a large fine to be paid, or for some other condition. Or jail time. It depends.BRADLEY BASKETBALL

..and as I have wondered previously - I have to wonder how much time the ISU fans spend on BradleyFans, cuz I never say a thing about ISU that some ISU fan doesn't fire back within minutes, so they must be lurking online 24/7.
Anyway - if the ISU fans were 1/10 as concerned about the behavior and arrests of their players, as they are about slamming the people noticing all the arrests & court appearances, then maybe the coaches & players at ISU would have some motivation for discipline and keeping their kids OFF THE POLICE BLOTTERS.
There are at least 25 different ISU basketball players just since the Osiris Eldridge era who STILL have open active cases or who have never appeared for their court dates or have never paid their fines - and have open warrants...it is frankly amazing - it is the culture there. it does seem to bother a few of your fans, but not many. Your fans are far more concerned about a couple minor cases that have since been dismissed which happened at Bradley 10-12 years ago!
BTW Tinsley's actions were in Coles Co., where he came from last year.
and one more thing - if you really want to see what ISU's football coach does all day, just search a few names off ISU's football roster!!!!
I really don't care about football, but case after case for "Retail Theft", "Criminal Misdemeanors", "Criminal Felonies", etc..

but one thing for sure, if you fail to keep your agreement that you pledged in court regarding your conviction, and if you thumb your nose at the legal system, they might still be lenient or they might come at you aggressively, send a squad car, apprehend you, handcuff you and throw you in jail and require you to post additional bond- just ask Yarbrough.
One thing that is sure, however, is that no matter how serious the nature of the charges, ISU & Dan Muller "will handle it internally" and the player will never miss a minute of any game or practice, and the local media & fans will look the other way as long as they are needed to help ISU win.

Milik Yarbrough did show up for yesterday's reckless conduct hearing...
a pre-trial hearing is now scheduled for July 2, Yarbrough remains free on bond
meanwhile, Deontae Hawkins must have skipped his last supervision hearing for his DUIs (to prove he is complying with terms - alcohol treatment & public service hours) - as the court just issued a "Petition to Revoke" on him as well.

with all the no-shows for his offenses, and having to be arrested, handcuffed and jailed for outstanding warrants to finally get him into court on those offenses- he was pretty lucky to get a lenient judge who allowed him to take supervision....
I hope he doesn't blow it like Tinsley just did by missing even more court appearances - as those charges will all get reinstated.
