ISU will miss him. He's a good defender & averaged just under 6 PPG.
Here's his big dunk that made sportscenter top 10 vs. Valpo.

at the end of 2016-17 Loyola's Tyson Smith left the roster (and remained on scholarship) because of repeated knee problems, and became "Graduate Assistant". So at least in 2017-18, he still got honored with a Final Four ring!
but now he's leaving Loyola and going to transfer and play one more year elsewhere.
EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Men's Basketball Head Coach Lew Hill announced on Wednesday the signing of 6-2, 185-pound guard Tyson Smith, a fifth-year transfer from 2018 Final Four team Loyola Chicago,to a scholarship agreement for the 2018-19 academic year.
One other guy transferred just a little too soon and sat out this whole past year while all his Loyola teammates had such an incredible season and got their Final Four rings.
He said "I did not feel it was the right fit basketball-wise." Wonder if he's thinking he made a mistake giving up a scholarship AND a Final Four run.
