Ethan Brue, after opening with a triple bogey 7 on the 1st hole came back to end up at +1 73 and is tied for 21st. Drake Bushong and Zach Jewell are tied for 37th after shooting 74 and Michael Mounce and Matthew Specht are tied for 49th after shooting 76. Might need 1 or 2 guys to go under par to put them in a better position after the 2nd round. Go get em boys!

Day 2, Bradley drops back to 10th place with a couple holes to go...
The top FIVE teams out of each regional advance, so right now it is pretty unlikely Bradley will advance - they'd need to make up about 20 strokes and there aren't enough holes left...
The top 3 individuals who are not on an advancing team also qualify, but Bradley's top guy Drake Bushong is a couple strokes back from that cutoff.

The Men's golf team concluded one of their most successful years in its history as the finished 12th out of 13 teams in the NCAA Bryan Regionals. As a team they shot a 3rd round 301 to finish the regionals at 901. Texas A & M shot a score of 27 under 837 to win by 9 over Clemson. Baylor (857), UCLA (866) and Kentucky (874) advance to the NCAA Finals next week in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Drake Bushong shot a 3rd round of 74 and finished with a 4 over par score of 220 to finish in a tie for 28th. Ethan Brue shot a 77 to finish at 49th with a score of 224 in his last tournament as a Brave. It was Ethan's 33rd straight sub 80 effort which is the 2nd longest in BU history. Ethan also finished with the lowest career stroke average, (73.31), in BU history and his 73.18 season average was the 3rd lowest in BU history. Michael Mounce shot a 75 to finish in a tie for 61st with a score of 228. 2 other seniors also finished their career at BU as Zach Jewell shot a 75 to finish in a tie for 63rd with a score of 229 and Matthew Specht shot an 80 to finish 74th overall at 236. The team for the 2nd straight year were recognized by the NCAA for outstanding academic achievement. Congrats on an awesome year guys and thank you Ethan, Zach and Matthew for your efforts at BU!

again - great season - and smaller private schools are at a severe disadvantage when recruiting - for reasons previously noted --
(Note: not a single midmajor private school made the NCAA Finals of the 30 teams that did, and only one state-school midmajor made it..
and not one midmajor was ranked in the final TOP 25)
so our guys really did have a great year going up against the big boys...
