I happen to have a little inside information on the Peters recruiting and it's close but not quite what is reported on here. It's not that Geno didn't want Alex, he wanted Nate Taphorn badly. He put ALL his eggs in Nate's basket and we all know how that went. Nate ended up having a nice career at Northwestern.

He did and I am sure Nate is happy with how things turned out....
But he really didn't play much of a role, played deep sub minutes & garbage time most of the time but
would have been a star in the MVC like Jeremy Crouch or Matt Taphorn - and locals would have loved the chance to see him play here...

I agree with you ,he didn't play much of a role but 2 things stick out here. 1.) he got a great education and 2.) he was part of the first Northwestern team to ever play in the NCAA Tourney. That's something he'll be able to tell his kids someday. Geno thought he was going to get Nate and we all know that didn't work so well. I do think Alex or Nate would have had special careers at BU but we will never know.
