WHo do we pull for.....? We have CU coming here which we could win and we go to SIU which we probably lose. We have BOTH InSU and UNI coming to Peoria which we can win.

I'm thinking the most IMPORTAINT (and obvious) is that WE win. I say go for the upsets...SIU and InSU.

I think you go for CU and UNI tonight. Creighton has a pretty big league in the Valley and we probably can't pass them in the standings after the loss to them Thursday. UNI also got a big win @ MSU on Thursday which puts them a game up too. We can definitely pass Indiana State so we want them to lose a couple here so we can get ahead of them. Plus, we'll probably have the tie breaker over them.

Indiana St. is a 10 1/2 dog at UNI? That's shocking to me. Lack of respect maybe?
People need to recognize there is a huge difference between playing hard, and playing well...

            It's up to 11 1/2 now.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Here's how I see today's MVC slugfest going:

              CU: 78
              SIU: 73

WOW! The Salukis dropping to 5-4 in MVC play. The Jays could make it happen tonight.

              UNI: 78
              ISU-Blue: 65

The Trees got their only Valley road win when they fluked out against ISU-Red (when the Redbirds weren't playing all that well).

              WSU: 83
              Braves: 81

Have the feeling the Shockers will be ready to split their Illinois road trip. Should be yet another great game at Carver.

I watched the Southern Illinois at Creighton game, and it was a real gem! SIU got out to an early lead, and the Bluejays took their first lead of the night on a Nate Funk jumper in the lane with 4:00 to go. Down the stretch, the lead waffled back and forth before Brian Mullins got the game winner with :04 to play. Funk then missed a 40-footer at the buzzer which he nearly banked in! For the Salukis, it was their 4th straight win in Omaha and 7th in a row over the Jays (talk about owning someone)! Randal Falker played another brilliant game for SIU. If he continues this way down the stretch, he would be a good bet for Valley Player of the Year. Every time he made a play, he was very cool and composed--no woofing at other players--he just went about his business. Two things I didn't like that I saw and heard was one of the Creighton "fans" pointing and jawing at Falker as he made his way down the tunnel at halftime. Also, during the broadcast, someone near Holthus and Spoonhour kept ragging about the officiating ALL NIGHT LONG! It wasn't anyone from the Creighton bench as far as I could tell, but it was very annoying to have to listen to it--comparable to the Gonzaga "screamer" during last year's NCAA tournament!
"The NCAA is so upset about alleged recruiting violations at Kentucky that they decided to give Cleveland State the Death Penalty"--Jerry Tarkanian
