Everything is now really looking up for the BB program. Great coaching, good players, excellent recruits, probable significant increases in game attendance,
and a winning year in 2018-2019! However, one thing is still missing and needs to be fixed....Our non-conf. schedule is very weak and needs to be upgraded both at home and on the road.
Upgrading the home schedule can have a major effect on season ticket sales and attendance, can be a big help in being invited to post season tournaments, and help recruiting. No really good prospective player wants to play against weak, "ho-hum" opponents and fans lose interest in these kind of games.
Hopefully, Chris R. and Brian W. will aggressively pursue a major upgrade in our home and road schedules.

I agree. The years when Bradley scheduled home and aways with Michigan and other huge basketball teams were great fun. I remember a Bradley team that nearly took down Michigan in the civic center and a Bradley team that could beat U of I.

Does anyone think that the success of Loyola will help other MVC teams with recruiting? After all the last team to beat Loyola was us....

I know our guys are very hard at work on the schedule - it will not be for lack of effort if we can't get the top teams to play us but I know our staff is putting everything into it!

How about just trying to get some decent mid majors?

Getting some top programs on the non conference schedule should be a bonus to the schedule. It is more realistic to have a non conference schedule consisting of solid mid majors. If it’s as hard as it appears for mid majors to get games it should not be that difficult for mid majors to schedule each other. They should strive to schedule games against teams from the A-10, Colonial, AAC, Mountain West and even the consistently lower teams from the Big 10, SEC, Big East, etc. Scheduling multiple dogs like Eastern Illinois, Chicago State, SEMO and others on the same season is an insult to the fans and does nothing but lower the quality of the program and guarantee non respected wins. We use to be critical of other MVC schools for doing it. It’s time to rise expectations and separate ourselves from those schools. Just as Wichita and Creighton have done.

I believe it is hard for the Bradley's of the world to get any games scheduled with any teams from the Corrupt conferences. Why? Because the corrupt schools are afraid of losing. I think the NCAA should mandate the teams from the Corrupt conferences play other teams home and away or they get points taken away

Good idea! Something has to be done! Maybe I am naive, but I am hoping that after the dust settles on the current FBI investigation and prosecution of the cheaters that rule changes are made. The playing field needs to be leveled. The corruption is sickening and has been going on too long.

              I am naive?

No, I have said this for a long time. There are some Power 6 teams that do not play a real road game in their nonconfetence schedule. And there are a lot that may play only one or two, and they rarely play non-power 6 teams away from home.
The NCAA should have a rule that all D1 schools have to play at least 4 true road games.

That is why I said getting a team from one of the power conferences should be a bonus to the schedule, that would make an already solid schedule great. You can have a solid non conference schedule with other notable mid major teams. The problem we are experiencing scheduling top teams on a regular basis is nothing new. It??™s been a problem for decades. When we have occasionally gotten one it made our schedule even better. Scheduling the multiple number of cupcakes as we did last year is a new problem and self inflicted.

I don??™t agree that this a new problem. I saw many a cupcake play in the Fieldhouse until Dick Versace came along.

Don??™t have to be recent to be a cupcake.
