Those numbers don't tell the whole story. It looks like two of the scholarship guards on next year's roster will have to sit out (Nolan & McAdoo), and there is a possibility that a third (Kingsby) might have to sit out too if he doesn't receive an NCAA waiver.

If all 3 have to sit out, that would leave Bradley with just 10 scholarship players. Of those-
Only 4 are guards- Darrell Brown, Nate Kennell, Antonio Thomas, and Ville Tahvanainen.... All but Nate could feasibly play point guard.
One is a big wing who could play either the 2 or 3 position- Stephan Gabriel
And 5 are big men- Koch Bar, Elijah Childs, Ari Boya, Ja'Shon Henry, and Rienk Mast

If Danya Kingsby does get the waiver to play right away after his transfer, that would help a lot, since he too can play both guard positions.
And note that Bradley does still have a preferred walk-on offer open to Sean Houpt, who is a 6'4" shooting guard who could offer insurance in case of multiple injuries.
Assuming there are no further roster changes, things look OK, but we have to hope the team doesn't develop compounding injury problems

Ja'Shon has demonstrated he can create his own shots and is fearless attacking the basket. Depending on the match ups, I think he has the ability and versatility to contribute at the 2, 3 or 4 positions.

          • You are right. Ja'Shon played some at the 2-position in high school, and even played a lot at the point guard position, so he is capable of doing it. But in Coach Wardle's offense, I don't think we'll see him play much "2", unless he is needed to guard a big strong "2" on an opposing team. That won't happen often, if at all, IMO.

            • Bradley has recently been in recruiting contact with 2019 Carlos Ramsey, a 6'4" senior guard who played high school ball at Milwaukee Hamilton HS (prior to 2017-18 ), then at Destiny HS in Milwaukee in 2017-18, where he sat out the entire season due to transfer rules. More recently (2018-19) he played at AZ Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona, just outside Phoenix. They play a national high grade schedule at AZ Compass Prep, and he had a great season there. He is a strong and athletic left handed kid with a high upside, who currently is reported to have only 1 offer, from UW-Milwaukee.

In this ranking from December, 2017, he was ranked the #8 best prospect in the class of 2019 in Wisconsin-

I am kinda glad since I think Michael Moreno could have come back to haunt us if he went to Evansville....
BUT this morning he announced he is going to Eastern Kentucky - https://twitter.com/michaelmoreno30/...02199087878146

Wow, ISU coach Dan Muller went after transfer Tim Finke, too, and now he loses out again.

                    • Evan Gilyard, who was on Bradley's recruiting radar when he announced he was transferring from UTEP (BU never offered), where he averaged 13.6 ppg last season as a sophomore in the CUSA. He had several good offers from MVC and A-10 schools. But, now he announces he will transfer to New Mexico State.
I can't help but suspect that leaving a CUSA school, turning down offers from good conferences like the MVC and A-10, and transferring to a WAC school like NMSU, known for being able to get academic disasters that nobody else will take into their school, has more to do with academics than anything.

                      • I suspect our staff knew about his issues...and he was never offered,
but there were some people saying- that he was gonna land here...

Bradley is not in the running (we have no open scholarships) - but it is believed he is down to Buffalo, SIU and ISU

strange if he has solid offers that he would have waited so long that most schools by this point have filled all their scholarships.

Based on rumors I read elsewhere, it seemed like he was hopeful of a high major offer that never materialized.
