Tough break for Drake. Niko Medved, who did a nice job in his one season at Drake is reported to have accepted the head coaching position at Colorado State. He was an assistant coach at Colorado State for 6 years before becoming head coach at Furman.

Tough Loss
Yeah I think that hurts. With the players at Drake unchanged much from last year, they really did well. It has to be his coaching. I wonder if there will be mass exodus there as happened when Coach Wardle came in. In our case, it was good riddance I think because those players were picked by Coach Ford. -
I do worry that Drake and Evansville look like they will be pretty weak next year.houstonbraveComment

it is being stated that Drake assistant and familiar ex-UNI Panther Ali Farokhmanesh and assistant JR Blount are both leaving Drake to go to Colorado State with Medved
the remaining assistant left behind, Dave Thorson, remains a candidate for the open head coaching spot...and currently is listed as Interim Head Coach.Comment

both backup centers, Kory Kuentsling and Casey Schlatter have announced they are transferring
This means they will return only one player taller than 6-3 who has spent more than 7 minutes total on the floor
There's also talk that couple of their incoming recruits may reopen as wellComment
