  • UNI gets hit by transfer

not surprising - it was rumored....sophomore Juwan McCloud is leaving and transferring...
injured and didn't play much down the stretch of his sophomore year.

he was a regular starter right from the beginning of his freshman year and also started the first 26 games this year then was injured...
he wasn't really very productive - averaged just 3.7 ppg as a freshman, then 6.6 ppg with only 1.7 assists his sophomore year...
and even tho there were reports he would be cleared he didn't get in any of the tourney games...and speculation started that he might be on the outs..

he's from Wisconsin, prob will land at Green Bay or UW-M- they seem to take all the transfers that head their way

Northern Iowa loses another player to transfer--

    Tanner Lohaus is leaving

" ... and will look to rekindle his baseball career" *

Tanner Lohaus's brother Wyatt was a key player for UNI averaging 24 minutes and 9.3 pts/45.3% from 3-pt
But Tanner spent 2 years at Northern Iowa and never got much playing time, battling injures as well.
But if he wants to try to play Division I baseball, he will have to look elsewhere as UNI cut their baseball program in 2009.
Coach Ben Jacobson said when interviewed that they are looking hard at transfer players to fill the open scholarships they have.

There were some who believed that Tanner Lohaus was the more talented Lohaus brother. But he had trouble adjusting to the speed and physicality of the game at the D1 level. He redshirted his first year, like UNI Head Coach Ben Jacobson likes to do with many of his recruits. He played in their first 4 games this year, but then played in only 3 more games all year. I hope he finds success in baseball, or at a lower level basketball program.
