  • The rumors start again - Gregg Marshall leaving Wichita..

Happens every year...probably not but who knows....
but apparently he talks to other programs...heck, nobody thought Turgeon would leave - but he did...

here's the latest discussion from Wichita-

anyway, if there's a time to leave, everyone thinks maybe now is it - his market value is as high as it gets, the top programs would offer $4-5 mil...
..and this year many of his top players could be gone and leave him with a difficult rebuild next year that could result in a sub-par year and a drop in his market value...

    Greg Marshall leaving Wichita

Lets hope he doesn't leave. The probability that he will lose almost all of his team would make for a difficult recruiting year for him and the prospect of a bad season or two ahead. We could enjoy the year watching him struggle to win in his new conference.
His arrogance and a "win at all costs" approach could put pressure on him to bypass the rules and do anything to sign the players he wants increasing the possibility of getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Does anyone believe old Gregg won't do whatever is needed to get the players he wants. If he stays, that could end up being a big problem in the years ahead for Wichita.

Gregg has a way of getting his friends and "boosters" to do the dirty work for him
Former Wichita State basketball star Fred VanVleet may be under federal investigation for receiving illicit payment from a sports agency while playing for WSU. More than 20 universities and players are mentioned in documents seized by federal agents from former NBA agent Andy Miller and his former associate Christian Dawkins relating to their sports agency,...

If any charges can be proved against WSU, it may be time to leave before sanctions.

Gregg Marshall takes a big hit....
and Penny Hardaway has only been the Memphis coach for one day and he's likely already scored a BIG commit and takeaway!

4-Star Memphis guard Alex Lomax, who had already committed & signed to Wichita State - has now DECOMMITTED, gotten his release from Wichita and is probably going to Memphis (tho not confirmed)!
He is a 5-11 point guard - so maybe Coach Hardaway won't need anyone else...

My guess is GM needs a pay raise and his talking about leaving has worked pretty well for him in the past. He's such a dirt bag.

This article puts Marshall in a pretty nice light........maybe he's not always a jerk

Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall decided not to use his power to penalize a player transferring to a conference rival and instead opted to do the right thing.

nobody said he was ALWAYS a jerk

...and I hope Penny is more successful than when Houston hired their legend, Clyde Drexler...

Rest assured, Gregg gets something from this.
                  Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.
