  • Change in seating configuarion coming to Carver Arena to accommodate new Braves Club Lounge

This change could affect some fans whose season tickets are in the lower parts of Sections 17, 18, 20, and 21 (the red areas). See the seating chart below-

Those seats and risers will be removed completely in the new configuration, and all the current season ticket holders in those areas will be given a special deal to relocate their season tickets (no maintenance for the first year, among other options). Many of those season ticket holders have already been notified, and I have talked to a couple who have already met with the people in the Bradley ticket office and selected new seats. Fortunately, there are still many good seats available.

That area will have all the risers and chair seats removed, and will be the new location for the Braves Club Lounge and meeting area. It will reportedly include a bar, an area for snacks to be available, and multiple tables for fans to congregate before games, and at halftime. I am not sure if it will stay open during the game, and they are still working on a better way to access the area once it is separated from the seats above it, so that fans would not have to walk back close to the court to return to their seats.

I have been to other arenas that had similar club areas at the end of their court, and it would also be similar in some ways to the Hy-Vee sponsored student club area at the other end of the court, only it will be much larger, have more features, and accommodate more people.

If anyone here is among the hundreds of season ticket holders in that area, let us know what you have learned so far, and how your assignment of new seats went. I think this is a great idea, and I think it will satisfy some of those who publicly expressed a desire to see better accommodations for Braves Club members at the arena.

It’s a good idea. Too bad there isn’t another area they could locate it. They will be eliminating several hundred seats.

I talked to a long time season ticket holder that had seats in this area. He was already notified of this change. He stated that he will not renew his tickets and will just buy individual seats to games in sit in unoccupied seats in the lower bowl. Therefore, Bradley will lose his renewal and maintenance fee.

I hope this works out better than the tables that replaced the seats to the right side of the band a few years ago

I think they plan to continue that student lounge section, sponsored by Hy-Vee. But does anyone really use that area?

The most I??™ve seen that area used is on one of the few occasions when one of the sororities or fraternities come out for one of their brother/sisterhood nights. Otherwise it??™s a huge waste of space.
          Gotta stop feeding the trolls.

The new configuration of taking away 4 sections of seating in the end zone might seem like a great idea to some but being a season ticket holder for many years right next to the bench and then all of a sudden having to vacate your seats is probably not what most of us want to do.

I never thought I??™d see the day when Bradley would eliminate that number of seats. There has to be between 300-450 seats there. I wonder how many season ticket holders are in that area...100?

Yes, I think it is in that ballpark of a couple hundred.

Well, we??™re not short on seats so we won??™t miss them at this juncture. They are probably betting that anyone who is still a season ticket holder is die hard enough to renew elsewhere or at least continue attending. Thirdly- they??™re trying to elevate the benefits of being a Braves club member, which is a move for the future. I hope it is well done and we can all have an enhanced experience.

I think they should have just eliminated the student end. They didn??™t use it anyway unless it was a televised game. I know many fans who sat in the other end and liked those seats.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

1 thought that comes to mind is the graying of the fan base. How are we going to get young folks, including students, to attend games and become real Bradley basketball fans? Is the current student end part of how we do that? I really do not know, but thought the question was worth discussing.

Just tell them they will be on television and they???ll show up. No matter where their seats are they have to show up first.

That might be but I can't completely agree with that as I sat on the mezzanine behind the band. It has been said on this board the students will come if the games get meaningful. I see that a lot from our seats. Why they weren't using the student section is beyond me but the rest of the seats behind that area were filled w/a lot of students and they were loud. It started w/ the Drake game and continued to the end of the season. The area behind at the band end was decently full most of the games and that included all of the sections.
                            Hopefully it continues next season.

Da Coach wanted feedback from any of us that sit in those 4 sections of the end zone. I went to the civic center today to pick out my new seats and met with Nathan Bramwell who is director of ticket sales and operations. He told me how hard it was to make those phone calls and e mails to all those season ticket holders to have to change their seats. I picked out seats in section 4 row C of the lower bowl. The arena was set up for hockey today because the Rivermen had practice so it was kinda hard to visualize your seats. Is there anyone that sits in or near that area and could tell me how the view of the court is from them?
