the four years of the PJS being lapdog shills for the disastrous Joanne/Cross/Geno era & completele inability to identify how bad those years were and fairly report on them is and will remain one of the greatest oddities and most inexplicable facts about Bradley basketball...except that certain media personnel acquired nice, lucrative and even lifelong faculty positions at Bradley - hmmm...

Maybe Dave would be kind enough to explain some of this to us in some fashion.
The lines about, "best recruiting class since Mitchell Anderson, Reese, Thirdkill" just seem to be completely off the mark. Of course, they were probably written before the results were in. I just don't understand how anyone could be so positive about the Coach Ford era. That era was a total disaster to me, and I think to a large number of us here on Bradleyfans.com.What part of illegal don't you understand?

Aug. 6 vs. Concordia University in Montreal, 6 p.m.
Aug. 8 vs. Carleton University in Ottawa, 6 p.m.
Aug. 9 vs. University of Ottawa in Ottawa, 6 p.m.
SIU has 3 games in Cuba on August 6, 7 and 8 - one game each day against a "Cuban National Team"
In an interview yesterday by Barry Hinson at their open practice - Barry painted the Cuban National team as very powerful and said he didn't expect to win a game against them.
But that stumps me - maybe they are powerful but there's not a whole lot of evidence....
they have not played on the international stage for 20-30+ years - not in the Pan American Games since the 1990's nor in the Olympics since the 1980 Moscow games when half the world boycotted. And they haven't played in any international FIBA events in 25 years.
But just this year they have played a couple friendlies and some prelims to the 2020 FIBA World Cup. But they are definitely NOT good....losing all SIX of their games going back to last fall.
Twice they have gotten clobbered big time (30-40 pts) by a US squad of completely obscure, no-name G-Leaguers and Euro players. LINK LINK
..and even getting beat soundly by Puerto Rico twice and 75-52 and 72-66 by Mexico! So they seem to be the doormat of most National teams in our hemisphere....
I'm sure someone's gonna accuse me of picking on them but seriously - someone has to tell the facts...Barry's just pulling our legs talking like they're up there with the Warriors...Last edited by tornado; 08-02-2018, 09:17 PM.

Everyone is healthy & ready to go but the new guys just getting adjusted & I think they will probably not play as many minutes..
either way, all the extra practices and the couple games will help get our guys ready to go in the fall.
We have 12 scholarship players with two brand new guys (Brummett & Henry) so it's reasonable to assume if the coach goes with a rotation of 9-10 guys, then the experienced guys will play more.
There was an "event" going on outside -with Bradley sponsor Peoria Charter Coach and their "CEO" showing off a couple new charter coaches that the teams will use for road trips - pretty nice...
The red one is shown in my avatar and there's an identical White one with red lettering, too...
BTW- watch Kurt Pegler (WMBD) (and probably Jim Mattson, too) as they will film at the Bradley practice today and have some coverage this evening & on their websites.
Dave Reynolds will have a report as well - and I suppose BradleyFans will have more from direct observation, too...anyone who wants more can PM questions to Da Coach or me...

"Due to extremely limited internet availability, coverage of SIU's trip will not be available until the team returns to the United States. ....during the week of August 12-19."
we have friends who just returned from Cuba and said it is not hard at all to get internet access in Cuba, but there are very few FREE wi-fi spots -
- it is not terribly expensive...kind of like what you do on a cruise ship - you just pay by a prepaid card. (cost is about $1.50 per hour).
UTRGV going to Costa Rica - they have two MVC transfers on their roster..- https://goutrgv.com/news/2018/8/3/me...osta-rica.aspx

The Bradley team is currently on their long trip back to Peoria. Let's hope for a safe trip, and that they can enjoy the last couple weeks of their summer!
Fall semester classes start August 22, about 2?? weeks from now.
Practice for Bradley basketball begins in a little over 7 weeks (Sept. 26), the first exhibition game is just a little over 12 weeks away (Nov. 1), and the first official game is a little over 13 weeks away (Nov. 7).
