Bradley- summer foreign tour to London & Amsterdam
Kurt Pegler ... at today's practice .... Dave Reynolds is also here and should have a report.
...a couple media members arrived, and we'll likely see reports in the PJ Star and on WMBD.
interesting - now we're 3 days since they were there to cover a Bradley practice and nobody (except BradleyFans) has even breathed a mention of it...I guess that shows their level of interest in covering Bradley...sad....

I think they were all wrapped up covering the Jim Thome induction into the Hall of Fame. I don??™t blame them. It was a great honor for a local guy. Plenty of time to cover the Braves.

WMBD briefly showed Bradley players practicing and a few comments from Coach Wardle during last night's 10PM news/sports.
I'm happy they are having a great time - team-building!
Bradley had scheduled a bike tour of the central London area for the players today. They had pretty good weather!
They play their first game tomorrow against a team of professional players from a nearby city.
One source at practice last Friday said the team they are playing is from the British Basketball League (BBL), Surrey.
Here is the Surrey Scorchers roster, but because it is their off-season, the American players and others may not be there, and other players may be added.-

They will remain in London Wednesday and do more things, then travel to Amsterdam on Thursday, Aug. 2, and play their next game there on Friday, Aug. 3.
The team they play in Amsterdam is called Amsterdam Select. There is no team in their pro league by that name, so I am guessing it might be a mix of pros from the Netherlands.
Former Great Britain Under-20 Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye returns to the UK this week whilst on tour with Bradley men's basketball programme, as they will take on Surrey Scorchers Tuesday night at Surrey Sports Park (7:30pm tip).
yeah- but the more I read, the more I am just really happy for all the guys...
some of the players on this squad put up with a LOT of losing, a lot of criticism, people who lobbed unfair attacks, and they all put in a lot of hard work to get the team where we are today...in a MUCH better position than in any year since Coach Les was here.
And how about Peter Hanley - who barely ever gets to play on top of all the hours of study because he wants to go to medical school - but now gets to be part of this experience - GOOD for all of them!!
I hope they have a GREAT season, free from injuries and get to beat ISU twice (actually 3 times!!)
When Bradley last went to the Bahamas in 2013 (Geno Ford era)
the PJS gave plenty of coverage including blog posts by Dave Reynolds going to ridiculous extreme lengths to excuse, spin and justify how badly they played

...and Dave Reynolds even travelled with the team when they went to Canada!
another oddity - that Dave Reynolds used to post blog entries regularly (48 pages' worth of his "Press Row blog" with several per page going back years)...all the way up thru April of 2015 then one more blog post in May 2015, then suddenly it ended and he has not posted a single new entry since that one last in May 2015.
and here's another amazing oddity - Kirk Wessler likewise used to blog all the time (173 pages' worth going all the way back to 2006 with regular entries as "The Captain's Blog") - many of the posts were staunchly pro Geno, pro-Cross, etc ... and so over the top glowing positive that we often had some lengthy discussions here about them...
("light years better", "best recruiting class since Mitchell Anderson, Reese, Thirdkill..", constantly trying to shift all the blame even 3.5 years into the Ford-era - onto Jim Les and yes, even as far back as the Molinari era, ripping the dwindling Bradley fans under Geno despite admitting the season ticket fanbase was 7,500!, detailing all of Bradley's moral victories during the failed Geno/Cross/Glasser era then after 3.5 years of Geno he posted the famous one calling for fans to be patient, insulting fans for expecting too much too soon- Such as:
"you can’t jump off the bridge when things go a little shaky.”
"Process is a hard concept for people of the 21st Century to grasp."
"We live in a push-button world..."
...give them "several more years to get the rebuilding done"
Kirk likewise suddenly and inexplicably came to a screeching halt on April 15, 2015 after hundreds & hundreds of regular entries and has never posted a single thing since that date on his "Captain's Blog". Does anyone else think this is really odd? Just what happened around April or May of 2015 that caused two dyed-in-the-wool Bradley basketball lifer-reporters to suddenly give up doing something they had done so regularly & religiously and devotedly to support Bradley basketball for decades?
Yes, it sure seems odd to me. I've met Dave Reynolds and he seems like a real good guy. I will read his articles any time and follow him. He is very likable from what I have experienced. He also was at some of the recent ITOO dinners. I think he is a good fan of Bradley basketball.
Maybe Dave would be kind enough to explain some of this to us in some fashion.
The lines about, "best recruiting class since Mitchell Anderson, Reese, Thirdkill" just seem to be completely off the mark. Of course, they were probably written before the results were in. I just don't understand how anyone could be so positive about the Coach Ford era. That era was a total disaster to me, and I think to a large number of us here on Bradleyfans.com.
