INDIANAPOLIS — Bradley Director of Athletics Chris Reynolds and Atlantic 10 Commissioner
Bernadette V. McGlade and have been named to the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee.
Their five-year terms begin Sept. 1.

Reynolds was a four-year letterman at Indiana, helping to lead the Hoosiers to Big Ten Conference
championships in 1991 and 1993 and an appearance in the 1992 Men’s Final Four. During Reynolds’
four years, he played in 129 games for Hoosier teams that compiled a 105-27 record. A 1993
graduate of Indiana, Reynolds also earned a law degree from the school in 1996 and his doctorate in
    2012.

Reynolds is a native of Peoria, Illinois and returned to his hometown three years ago to take the
position at Bradley. He started his professional career as an intern for the NCAA before taking a job
as the assistant compliance coordinator at Michigan State, and then going to Western Michigan as
    assistant athletics director.

From there, Reynolds moved on to Notre Dame, where he was the assistant athletic director for
compliance, before returning to Indiana. He spent nine years in a variety of senior-level roles,
including managing human resources and media relations and serving as the sport administrator for
football, men’s and women’s basketball and nine Olympic sports. Reynolds also served as an adjunct
professor, teaching courses at Indiana in marketing, sports law and NCAA compliance. He left Indiana
in 2012 after being hired as deputy director of athletics and recreation at Northwestern before going
    to Bradley in 2015.

“It is a tremendous honor to be appointed to serve on the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball
Committee,” said Reynolds. “The excitement of the tournament makes it one of the most anticipated
sporting events each year. I look forward to working alongside this committed and talented group
and embrace the expectations that come with serving in this role.”

McGlade, who has been in her current role for 10 years, received her undergraduate and graduate
degrees from North Carolina. A former women’s basketball standout for the Tar Heels, McGlade is the
only person in conference history to be named an Atlantic Coast Conference Legend as both a
student-athlete and coach, Her honored jersey hangs in the rafters of Carmichael Arena and she is
the all-time leading rebounder, for men’s and women’s basketball, in North Carolina’s history. At age
23, she was hired as the head women’s basketball coach at Georgia Tech, becoming the first full-time
female coach in the school’s history. After coaching for seven seasons, McGlade moved into
administration, serving as the tournament director for the 1993 NCAA Women’s Final Four, hosted by
Georgia Tech. Her marketing strategy resulted in the first-ever Women’s Final Four to sell out in
    advance of the event.

In 2000, McGlade was named the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Administrator of the Year
and was inducted into the Georgia Tech Athletic Association Hall of Fame. In between her stints at
Georgia Tech and the Atlantic 10, McGlade spent 11 years at the Atlantic Coast Conference office,
during which time she founded the South Atlantic Women’s Basketball Officiating program for the
ACC and three other Division I conferences. She also served on the Women’s Basketball Committee,
serving as chair in 1999 and 2000.

Under McGlade’s leadership, the Atlantic 10 has expanded to include Men’s Final Four participants
George Mason and VCU, as well as Elite Eight participant Davidson. The league also secured media
rights packages with ESPN, CBS Sports Network, NBC Sports Network and Stadium.

“I am honored and humbled to have been selected to serve on the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball
Committee,” said McGlade. “The committee has a tremendous responsibility as steward of the most
iconic sporting event in the nation. I look forward to working with the committee members and the
great NCAA support staff and serving the Division I membership at the highest level.”

“We are incredibly excited to have two professionals with extensive backgrounds and basketball
experience, not only from an administrative standpoint, but also as a player and as a coach,” said
Dan Gavitt, NCAA senior vice president for basketball. “We’re excited to get Chris and Bernie on
board. While their term won’t start until this fall, we’ll have them shadowing current committee
members during this year’s tournament to give them a sense of what is to come.”

yes- but Dr. Reynolds is ALREADY and has been on the NCAA
Division I Men’s Basketball Competition Committee

He's been serving with the NCAA in a NATIONAL capacity already for well over a year and has gotten zero local press coverage of his prestigious accomplishments - so we need to give him a little props here on BradleyFans!

One student-athlete, two current head coaches, four Division I staff members and three members of the public with significant men’s basketball experience will form the newly created Division I Men’s Basketball Competition Committee, which will report directly to the Men’s Basketball Oversight Committee in an advisory role.

        From December 2, 2016
".. the newly created Division I Men’s Basketball Competition Committee
.. will report directly to the Division I Men’s Basketball Oversight Committee in an advisory role.

The committee also will have regular communication with the NCAA Men’s Basketball Rules Committee and
will review student-athlete health and safety, sportsmanship and integrity, game operations and presentation, technology, and statistical trends.
The group will develop strategic principles in these areas, subject to the approval of the Men’s Basketball Oversight Committee."

Dr. Chris Reynolds is just now finishing up his 3rd year as Bradley's AD -
but has been signed to a 5-year extension (thru at least 2023)

He also has received a promotion and is no longer just Athletic Director, but is now
          VICE PRESIDENT FOR INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS

          Per Dr. Gary Roberts:

"Chris is truly a star who has rebuilt a strong culture of success at Bradley University based on
solid values and a commitment to doing everything with class," Roberts said. "He has brought
national attention and respect for our athletic program, which will further help our outstanding
lineup of coaches to recruit the highest performing athletes who will also be great citizens, great
students and continue our run of back-to-back Missouri Valley Conference Academic
          Championships."

Just last week, Reynolds hit the national scene once again by being appointed to the NCAA
Division I Men's Basketball Selection Committee. This is the most coveted and most prestigious
position for a Division I Athletic Director within the NCAA structure.

Reynolds' passion and dedication to Bradley are evident in everything he does. In addition to campus activities,
he frequently serves as a speaker at community events, attends regional functions and works toward getting
the local community re-engaged with Bradley Athletics.

"We are extremely fortunate to have someone who is such an exceptional leader heading up our Athletic program,
and this extension will make it clear to Chris and everyone else associated with Bradley Athletics that we want him
here for a long time to come," added Roberts. "Plus, he is just such a great guy."

Congrats to Dr. Reynolds - well deserved and I agree 100%, he is a truly great guy with a great family!

Dr. Reynolds is serving on this committee with his predecessor at Bradley:
Reynolds is joined on the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association (DI-AAA ADA) by President Mary Ellen Gillespie, director of athletics at Hartford, 1st Vice President Lynne Robinson, director of athletics at Mount St. Mary's, 2nd Vice President Scott Leykam, director of athletics at Portland, 3rd Vice President Chris King, director of athletics at Texas Rio Grande Valley and Treasurer Ken Kavanagh, director of athletics at Florida Gulf Coast.
My first BU hoops game was on 12/30/1963. My dad took me to watch the Braves defeat Arizona 67-59. He helped me get Coach Orsborn's autograph before the game.
