  • Post-season event?

In the case that we don't play any more games, I hope our staff considers having a post-season event..

Doesn't necessarily have to be a big, fancy banquet...maybe just an event that's casual and allows the fans to interact with players & coaches...
something like the Voice of the Braves events only in a larger venue...maybe like the pre-season Itoo event.
Let Dave Snell put together a highlight reel and a tribute to Donte and also use the event to hawk season ticket sales for next year as well and plead for donations & support...
If it's well organized and publicized it would draw >1000!

We have not had such an event since before Cross got here. -- LINK-2009 - LINK-2008

The Braves Club pregame parties drew packed crowds, the sendoff event in the team hotel last Friday and Saturday packed a huge room, and of course, the number of Bradley fans who traveled to St. Louis was somewhere in the 1500+ range, so there is no doubt the fan interest and support is returning. It is not where it was a decade ago before the dismantling of the program, but there are still lots of people who support Bradley.

Compare that with the other schools. Loyola brought a nice number of fans. But considering their home attendance is the lowest in the MVC, most of them were probably bandwagon fans. But the contingent from most other schools was horrible.
There was a time when Missouri State matched Bradley in home attendance, and drew more people to St. Louis for the tournament than anyone. Yet this past weekend it was almost impossible to find an MSU fan anywhere. It's almost the same for SIU. They were the #2 seed and have had a couple very good years under Barry Hinson, yet there are very few SIU fans left, their home attendance is terrible and most of what they report are no-shows, and there were only a small contingent of fans in St. Louis. A decade ago, there were more SIU fans than from any school.
You could almost fit all the Drake, UNI, Evansville, Indiana State, and Valpo fans who were in the arena onto a bus and still have room for the cheerleaders and band. There appeared to be fewer of those fans than even the paltry number of all-session tickets they were forced to buy.
The largest fan groups were obviously Illinois State and Bradley. No other school even came close.

I don't believe I ever saw even one single Missouri State fan...not one...
saw a lot of enthusiastic Loyola people who all bought into the Harry Potter scarves and co-ordinated maroon outfits...and a few ISU, SIU & Drake folks but the rest of the teams kinda got abandoned..

          Post Season Event

t....I couldn't agree more with you regarding a post season event. We've had an excellent year, the program is turning around, the kids have worked hard, played great, and the players and fans deserve recognition. A post season event should be put together by the Ath. Dept. Attendance would be outstanding and this would be a great way to hype next years success, season ticket sales, and help recruiting.
