For me right now, remembering the past actually fills me with joy because it highlights how far and how quickly bad things can be overcome simply by by having the right foundation, mindset, and a workmanlike attitude. I don't think there is anyone on here that doesn't remember the past if they have been a BU fan longer then the last couple years. However, it gets old that every conversation that includes any aspect of that administration reverts back to complaining about those three. We need to move on, and not continuing to dwell on it. Yes, Geno was not good here, but he was not a terrible person. He also had success at Kent State before coming here, so saying he will essentially destroy any program he touches is not accurate or fair.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, and they are welcome here. But what we discourage is criticizing or attacking others for their opinions.
I suspect it will be a long time before most Bradley fans forget the meddling, mismanagement, corruption, and damage to the Bradley athletic programs by the previous administration. And if it's fair to remember and comment on the many past BU successes, shouldn't it be acceptable to comment on the failures?
Personal attacks are a little different. As a moderator, I consider those kinds of attacks carefully, but I did not take Tommy's original comment about Geno as a personal attack, but rather one base on experiencing the results of his coaching here.

Some current news about Geno Ford, and it's not real good.
Geno took over as head coach at Stony Brook after the previous head coach Jeff Boals (Geno's former teammate in college) left to take the job at his alma mater Ohio University. In his first season, Geno took over a team that had gone 24-9, and 12-4 in the American East Conference in 2018-19 under Boals. He had a pretty good year, though considering he took over a team that had a decent amount of talent, he finished 20-13, 10-6.
But things have gone downhill. His team this year had no seniors this season. Stony Brook's top 4 scorers, who were all juniors, have all entered the transfer portal, the top 3 scorers entering in the last 24 hours. Earlier, he lost several other players to transfer, meaning he's lost at least 7 players to transfer so far, including his entire starting 5, all of which were slated to return and which would have been the favorite to win the American East Conference next season. He has already signed three transfers from other schools, but none appear to be impact players and none of them are eligible immediately as grad-transfers. Plus, he has only one recruit signed for the class of 2020, a 6' juco guard.
This leaves Geno very short on talent for next season. Fans on their message board have gone from optimistic to quite negative toward Geno.

He was a guard who graduated from Chicago Curie in 2016, and he remained a Bradley recruit until he committed to DePaul in 2015.
He has announced he is leaving DePaul and will play his final year of eligibility as a grad-transfer.

Here is an unusual grad-transfer with a slight connection to Bradley....
D.J. Williams is a 6'7" guard/forward from Chicago, who committed to University of Illinois and their previous coach John Groce. After his sophomore season, Illinois fired Groce in 2017. Williams left Illinois and transferred to George Washington University. He sat out the 2017-18 season, and played as a redshirt-junior last season. He was the leading scorer for George Washington U. last season with an average of 13.7 ppg, and 4.7 rpg. He was a teammate there with Terry Nolan, Jr., who transferred and is now at Bradley. Williams and Nolan were both starters for the team last season, and Nolan was GWU's 3rd leading scorer at 10.6 ppg. D.J. Williams, like Nolan, had announced his intention to leave GWU and transfer at the end of last season, but he was hopeful to qualify as a grad-transfer. However, even after attending classes for this past summer, he fell just short of graduating. So he will continue his studies for the first semester of 2019-20, and will become eligible to transfer at the semester break as a grad-transfer. Wherever he lands, he would be eligible immediately
