Open Post to Chris Reynolds....
Chris....If invited, Bradley should be in the CIT. The benefits could help our program in several ways:
1. Our kids have worked hard, played hard, and have had a really good season that is on the verge of now moving our program to even higher levels. The CIT will create additional momentum for this.
2. Our fans are starting to return...our successes are reflected in increased attendance and a good year next year will probably accelerate this. The CIT will generate more fan interest and help season ticket sales next year. The CIT will allow us to extend our season and give our team more practice between this year and next.
3. Our kids are bonding....The CIT will help this happen.
4. Being in the CIT will keep the Bradley name out there and I now understand that some of the games will be on TV. This has to help the Bradley image and our recruiting.
5. Let's be pro-active and let the CIT know we are interested.
Thanks,
Wizard

I still think we ought to get an NIT bid - I think we are the 2nd best team in the MVC -
-we are the only team to beat Loyola in the past TWO+ MONTHS (since Jan. 3)
-ISU never beat Loyola (they lost to them THREE TIMES- double digit average margin!)
-SIU never beat Loyola
-Drake never beat Loyola
-we played them much closer in the tourney than ISU did
-we have FOUR WINS against the teams above us in the league standings and we have beaten every team above us in the standings-
-Drake, SIU, nor ISU can NOT make that claim

We kind of wrote of the NIT a little early. 100 teams play in the NCAA and nit and we have an rpi of 104. Seems to be on the bubble to me. And as Tornado stated, the case can be made for us to be ahead of SIU and ISU.

Drake announced their CIT bid because with an RPI of 169 & non-conference SOS of 314, they know they are not getting an NIT bidCompete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

And the CIT probably will have a regional team not hosting a gsme ready to get on a bus for a road game. Example: you know you??™re playing Monday at 8. You??™re either going to Illinois State, BU, or some other Midwest school.
We could always play in the tournament and not be a part of the opening TV games as well.

Florida Gulf Coast RPI 173
UNC-Asheville RPI 130
Northern Kentucky RPI 111
Rider RPI 70
Wagner RPI 110.
Teams to watch are Vermont, Montana, UC-Davis, Harvard, Buffalo, Hampton, SE Louisiana, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Louisiana, and New Mexico State.
Also.... not sure what is gonna happen to Middle Tennessee State. They have an RPI of 32 from the 15th best Conference.... some think they will get NCAA bid. I say no. So they are another one with an Auto Bid to NIT. Not that it would change Bradley's "bubble".
But quite honestly - Bradley really is NOT on the NIT bubble.
Sorry to sound negative - just calling it as I see it.

How does a team with an RPI approaching 300 get into post-season play? -
I bet 2/3 of college basketball fans don't even know they are a Division I team.
They are a brand NEW Division I team (fewer than 4000 undergrad students) - in their very first season of eligibility
after transitioning from DII ...and they only draw 1200 per game.
Drake averaged only 3167 this year despite they were leading the league for a while...
but some of their home games sold as few as 2200 tickets, and you can see that fewer than 1/2 of those people actually came and sat in the seats. - LINK
I wonder if they will sell even 1000 tix for this matchup at 1pm
