I want to put in my two cents....
Loyola won everything fair & square...
They are a clean program, no cheating, no thugs, incredibly good academics, Graduation Rates & APR...
I will support & cheer for them to win their 2nd NCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!
Here's an interesting fact---
ISU has not been to the NCAA in 20 years (since 199
- In 1978 they let Gene Smithson go - and he took Wichita State to the NCAA Tournament twice
- In 1989 they fired Bob Donewald - who then took Western Michigan to the NCAA Tournament
- In 1993 Bob Bender left - who then went to the NCAA Tournament twice with Washington
- In 1999 Kevin Stallings left- who then went to the NCAA Tournament seven times with Vanderbilt
- In 2003 they fired Tom Richardson - who then helped Vanderbilt to seven NCAA Tournament appearances
- In 2007 they fired Porter Moser - who then took Loyola to the NCAA Tournament
- In 2012 - Jankovich left and almost immediately took SMU to the NCAA Tournament
..so the last SEVEN coaches they either fired or let go have proven themselves capable of taking teams to the NCAA Tournament -
and meanwhile they have the longest streak of any MVC team of NOT getting there
with Jim Les - we have also done the same- but let's hope we never "Cross-up" and repeat such a truly stupid mistake
